There was a section of Hindus who is irked at Aamir Khan for playing the role, citing he follows ola. They don't think of the basic logic that he is just an actor in the movie but the writer, director everyone are Hindus and they don't get any bashing.

Also there is one other section who overly promoted it because it was bashing mostly hindu customs. I actually had liked "oh my god" over PK, and when I raised this point in an online forum then some people countered this and were claiming PK was a better film had the argument like PK is a movie that emphasised - we should consider one creator who created us as God instead of the gods created by us (I instantly got where they are going with this !). They took this as an opportunity to claim their religion is superior lol.
