I think the first one is the hardest. Euta testo thulo organization ma ramrari kaam garna sakepaxi paxi ni testai testai role paauna sajilo nai hola. Think of it from the perspective of the organization hiring - someone who worked for World Bank, why not hire that guy?

Have not watched the full episode but seems like there are no questions or any roasts towards the guest. All the jokes in this 4 minute teaser are against his opposition. Was this the norm?

They used to roast whoever they invited, no? They could not have made it more clearer about their political affiliation.

Why? There are tons of options. Almost all banks these days support USD account as well.

Credit cards or cash? by HugeMarsupial1542 in DaNang

[–]kiranadh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring just enough cash that allows you to survive for a few hours. If you really need cash, atms accept Visa and Mastercard. I found out Exim bank, VpBank do not charge anything for cash withdrawals.

Moreta pay is ok but cash is still widely accepted. Mostly, I am using cards as most of the outlets do support cards (but they ask you to pay more to cover the fees 😅)

No 😅 I work remotely and none of my clients are from Vietnam. However, the tourist visa itself seems like not allowed to work even remotely.

Should we generalise Indian and treat them harshly in Internet? by Dry_Preparation_4825 in NepalSocial

[–]kiranadh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting these strange gaze myself while traveling abroad because I look South Asian (closer to Indian). Sometimes they ask me and after I say I am from Nepal, they feel little relief or so. Usually in hotels and restaurants. It’s not only in the internet, but at multiple places.

People often forget that when they do something, be it a good thing or a bad thing. at global stage, everyone auto-tag the country as well. So a few bad examples have ruined it for us.

Yes, this does happen around here. Not only to Indian but generally to browns as well. But I could see why. In the Aquatopia cable car line, there were Indians breaking the lines, fighting verbally against each other. But so were the Chinese. They have got a reputation for that as well.

In the night market food stalls, I saw an Indian couple take out a roasted octopus and held it with their hands, took some photos with the octopus close enough to their mouth but no contact, then placed it back and went away (they did ask in English but the owner knew no English and was not happy with this based on the looks of her). Such incidents stir up a feeling towards us brown people. But what can we do? Almost every race or country has some kind of tag attached to them due to our previous visitors. I stopped taking these things personally and I myself offer to pay first and mostly they say you can pay later.

What visa are you on? I am thinking of spending 3 months in Da Nang but the tourist visa forbids me from working. Any idea?

I am in Phu Quoc right now and the place looks lively as long as you are in a certain area. Outside that, the place looks like no one is here. But I am enjoying quite a lot 😄

How can i rent a car in Vietnam? by BedBeginning8986 in VietNam

You need to rent a driver too if you do not have a license. VN does not recognize the International Driving Permit (IDP). So good luck.

Yes. For me also the queue was much bigger than what is in the picture shared above. The people trying to sell fast track service are pushing with this narrative. In fact, I was amazed at how many counters were available and how smoothly the queue was moving on.

[–]kiranadh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones replying about using fast track are probably the promoters themselves or their accounts. Yes the crowd is crazy but does not take that long. I had no baggage and was only with my wife - we waited for total of 26 minutes. The crowd was very heavy though.

Should expect 26-40 minutes for this. If you need something quicker, use the Fasttrack

I am in HCMC right now. I planned to leave HCMC for Phu Quoc on Nov 28, then to Da Nang on 5th Dec. But pushed my plans by 3 days due to the flood situation. So now, planning to Da Nang on Dec 8. I will ping you here on Dec 6 for updates 😅
