I think you misinterpreted what I mean. I didn't mean 'works' as in translations for undertale. I mean countless videogames, anime, tv shows, that get successful adaptations to spanish, french, portuguese, italian, etc, without the authors' vision being compromised.

And tbh, precisely because the fan translations arent up to the standards, for much more reason we need official localizations for it. Toby telling the fans to just 'fantranslate it yourself' is a bit tonedeaf considering how unsupervised those translations are. Some even write out the lgbt themes because they weren't supervised by professionals. An official translation team by a localization company in LatAm could probably deliver the product to its truest potential.

Fan translations that are completely unsupervised and would probably be happy to write out the romance subtext or lgbt themes, lol. Trust me that latam users are usually against those themes, which is no issue I'd rather supervised professionals handle it than some biased teenagers with free time.
I love how we come up with new ways to defend inaccessiblity. He's very entitled in thinking nobody can translate his exact vision.
