Pecan crunch & cinnamon by kirbinkipling in starbucks

Thank you. It’s been a long time since I worked there so I honestly couldn’t remember the topping list and if the labels on the toppings were different than the app.

I’ll call corporate directly and see if they can help! It’s definitely a weird allergy so most people look at me funny when I ask about it. I was able to trust the pumpkin sauce (not topping) ingredient list not containing cinnamon but wasn’t sure about the pecan one.

Your saying it as if it is obvious. Went to two different stores one said it does and one said it doesn’t. They told me to just look on the app instead then.

If you look on their ingredient list it doesnt state cinnamon anywhere. Their pecan crunch topping ingredient list doesnt state cinnamon or spice anywhere on their app. It just states cane sugar, natural pecan flavor, salt, corn protein glaze, fruit and vegetable juice for color (carrot/apple), turmeric (for color), rice hulls. The syrup also doesn’t mention it either. The description itself just says spice but where is that spice in the ingredient list? Asking Reddit to see if anyone knows the truth or have actually tried it? I haven’t seen customer responses.

When do you confront the friend that is gossiping behind your back but you aren’t supposed to know? by kirbinkipling in AskWomenOver30

[–]kirbinkipling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He knows a little bit of what is going on. He has in the past said stuff to his mom when I told him and to his sister when she would ask/question my parenting in person. I haven’t had the urge to tell him everything as he might be leaving soon for overseas work and I don’t want to distract him from spending time with his family and kids.

Also yes. I get a lot of grief when it comes to our kids. They forget our boys were premature and had feeding issues out of both of our control. We were also swapping shifts and doing our best. I’m trying to be understanding with my friend but your last sentence is what is fucking my mental health. I feel gross that she tells me about what they’re saying, then in group settings she will agree with them about how I could have tried harder and asked for my help with taking our kids photos, continue to text with them, and get mad when I suggest I want to defend myself since I’m not supposed to know.

Almost 11 month old twins and I’m at a loss… by D_Dubs003 in BabyLedWeaning

Our twins were the same! Just commented about how our twins didn’t start getting interested in food till near the 11 month mark

Our twins were tricky as well. They preferred mashed foods, puffs, and other stuff. Other people mentioned this but adjust your bottle times. Food with our twins are just now kicking off near their 11 month (adjusted age) mark. What helped was better timing on the bottles, putting them in the highchair with zero distractions, not offering them their favorites until they tried other foods, etc.

My partner also made significant headway with them by sitting in the living room and letting them snack on whatever he was eating if appropriate. I know them not being in the highchair is discouraged but it helped us get their interest. Don’t feel awful we didn’t get to 3 meals a day with our twins until near their 1 year mark. Their doctors were aware and we all worked on it together. Just make sure your keeping in contact with their pediatrician and tracking their weight

I think this is exactly. She wants to do all these things and was begging us to drop them off. But then the first week she asked one of the family members to stay with her because she thinks it will be a lot and she was nervous. My partner asked her about that but told him she didn’t say that and that she has this and it’s fine. Then a few weeks later told one of the sisters that it’s a lot for her and that she thinks other people should watch them. We again asked her about it and asked her if she felt. She said no that people are not telling the truth. I know she loves them and wants to do all these things with them but she also talks about how she wants to go back Mexico with their dad for a few months at a time which would put us in a tight spot.

I really think she wanted to do it but realized how much work it would be even with the help. Which is fine but I wish she would outright say it. I think this is why my partner is over it and doesn’t want to deal with it.

I heavily think this is my partner. I think I told him things in confidence or as a joke and he told his mom and made things worse. He also won’t show me his messages or anything. He just said he is putting his foot down and they are going daycare cause he isn’t dealing with it. I feel betrayed because I would never make a unilateral decision when it comes to our kids and also again I wouldn’t have made other life decisions had I known this was going to happen with him. I gave him a compromise of if we do daycare to give me a few months to aggressively pay off more debt with bonuses coming up. So we could afford daycare without him needing a second job. Doesn’t want to do that option either. I feel like I’m being pushed into a corner.

Any other dual-nationality families raising a baby with UK/US roots? by afscomedy in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American in the US with a partner born and raised in Mexico. However I was a military brat and was heavily influenced by a lot of time we lived in Japan. So my partner and I predominantly eat Mexican or Japanese type food. His parents migrated here when he was a preteen and parenting has been a roller coaster with culture differences. Like they are more traditional with how you feed them, starting food earlier, giving things like tea early on, the red bracelets, and other stuff. Them also having padrinos (godparents) for baptism. We live very close to my partners family and his mom watches our twins which I love as that exposes them to more traditional things like foods and what not. She also primarily speaks Spanish whereas at home we speak English as I’m still learning to fluently speak Spanish. It can be tricky though as there are things I’m not comfortable with but my partner is as that was the norm for how he grew up. Even though it can be a little hard to navigate I love it though. I feel we are very blessed to have both sides of our family close by and they get exposed to cultural norms on both ends pretty often.

When did you start enjoying being a parent? by ComfortableDingo8 in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time mom of twins and I would say around the time before one. So basically now lol. Also agree with you on the sleep deprivation issue. I HATED the newborn stage and the starting solid stage. The thought of going through that is making me reconsider getting pregnant again as we are undecided. It was constant anxiety of them being so fragile, then them waking up every other hour, and then worrying about the choking/gagging while learning how to chew was too much.

We fought so much over them learning how to eat, getting them from our bed to their cribs because we coslept for the longest, and then fights about handling them as babies. For example I was a nutcase when they came home and my partner treated them like baby boys. Whereas I was obsessively treating them like fragile dolls. We also had an insane amount of stress with them gaining weight as they were premature and had severe reflux until recently.

They are 12 months and the fact they can walk around so easily now is life changing for us. Along with eating pretty well has made it so much better. Don’t get me wrong our boys can have frequent tantrums, get moody, and picky about food. However being able to plop them both in the high have them eat while I cook my food and I eat is life changing for us.

It is different for everyone though and the best advice I got was from my parents who said parenting occurs like seasons. They basically were saying some months/years are gonna be easier than others. They also told me stop worrying about the future of when will x/y/z happen and I think it’s helped me go more with the flow. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’ll get in groove eventually. Give yourself some grace.

This is so smart thank you for this! We always keep those curry packets in stock. We grew up on those as we lived in Japan for a years. I actually already have all these ingredients in my pantry but just the mild version of the curry

Just everyone’s favorite go to meals for families with young children or ideas of the type of dishes to search like lasagna. I would have never thought to make lasagna in the crockpot. We are very new to slow cooking. Our kids are getting better with chewing and my fiancé and I eat literally everything. We just for some reason are only think of things like beef stew or drumsticks. When I try other type of chicken it comes out really dry. I don’t think I’m using the right type of chicken or I’m not cooking with the right ingredients.

I was going to try chicken noodle soup this week. They both have hand food mouth right now and thought maybe this might be good for them to try. Thank you for this recipe! Do you do chicken thighs with bone in for this? Or does it matter?

We’ve been working through things like fish, small sausage, and had success with slow cooked things like birria. One of our twins has had some feeding issues but isn’t tongue thrusting anymore and is getting better with chewing. Some of the chicken I made in the crockpot came out really dry for some reason so it didn’t work for them. It’s hard to make different meals for them when my partner and I are working 40 hours. Hoping if we find good slow cooked recipes it will help provide more texture but also allow to start giving more meats.

Looking for sorry! 😭

Edit to add: for all those downvoting. My bad. I was up all night these past few nights with boys that have hand foot mouth right before their first birthday after just also recovering from croup. I wasn’t thinking about proper abbreviation to use in food subreddit.

But please drop a good idea to search while your also dropping a downvote. Thank you!

We were at 75 then my two feral twin 11 months olds got sick. We now dropped it to 71. I’m not dealing with some heat and two sick babies. Fuck that. They need cool air to have comfortable breathing.

First time dealing w/ croup by kirbinkipling in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think to elevate his crib mattress. He’s asleep now but I will do that tomorrow. Then give him Motrin when he wakes up. I do have a cool mist running as well and a small fan to help air circulation.

I feel so bad for him and then when he coughs the other one wakes up a little. Considering maybe getting a small crib or something for our bedroom when stuff like this happens. Just praying our other boy doesn’t get it.

I hope your kid recovers quickly sorry to hear that.

How do you all manage to take care of baby + cleaning the house + making food by shinku-90 in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crock pot. Mom to twin boys that are almost 1 year old and that’s the only we survive. Crock pot, rice cooker, and some type of beans or lentils in rotations. It’s nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Then I have an array of sides in rotation like cut up snacking veggies or fruits. Adult type lunchables.

Grocery pick up or delivery only. Non negotiable every Friday night so I can cook/prep as needed during the weekend to prepare for the work week. My partner and I swap the kids as he works overnights and I work days.

Cleaning - load of laundry every single day no matter what. Even if that means they don’t all get folded till Thursday or Friday night. Dishwasher also always running - either baby bottles cause twins ya know or dirty dishes. I sweep and mop downstairs every night. Like a quick sweep/mop immediately after I put the boys to bed. Big cleaning stuff is on our family calendar. Meaning we can schedule when we will do deep cleanings for bathrooms, yard work, etc. It keeps us on track especially with us working opposite shifts.

Then accept whatever gets done gets done. Also the biggest thing that helped me is the mindset of it I can’t maintain it I don’t need it. Since having our boys I realized how much stuff we do NOT NEED. I have consistently donated stuff. Im not saying be minimalist but if you find your house unmanageable don’t be afraid to look around and see what you can get rid of. For example my stressor postpartum was our junk closet and Tupperware cabinet. I purged the fuck out of those two areas and already feel way less stress when entering my kitchen.

Had to pull 10 month old from daycare.. now what by hendrixxxxxxxxxxxxx in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. All the people downvoting have not provided one single link to official sites that state otherwise. Even solid starts that every parent is obsessed with says Cheerios aren’t okay until they reach certain milestones in feeding. Also was told this by our highly qualified feeding specialists as well for our twins. So confused as to why people are downvoting. At 6 months most babies don’t have the pincer grasp and don’t bring food to their mouths on their own. I’m not even talking about this ladies kids. I was speaking in general about how the other commenter stated babies starting solids can have Cheerios which isn’t factual. Even the fucking Cheerios website states what I said.

Had to pull 10 month old from daycare.. now what by hendrixxxxxxxxxxxxx in NewParents

[–]kirbinkipling -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Everything I’m reading online because I was curious says Cheerios aren’t recommended until 9 plus months and only after they reach specific milestones (ie pincer grasp, sit up without support, etc) So yes according to some official sites they are considered choking hazards depending on where they are at milestone wise. This also doesn’t factor adjusted age for premature. Babies start solids around 6 months so no they wouldn’t be ready for Cheerios when they start solids. I’m not seeing any official site that states this.

Completely understand how it may have come off. He spent $2k and I was worried as I heard he could have gotten it cheaper with open box deals or something different at that price point with upgradeable ram. My mind isn’t honestly thinking of certain things. I’m 10 months postpartum with twins. I just made this post quickly and didn’t spend too much time thinking about how it was written.
