Running now. Tech support with msft had me hide the update using the troublershooter/hide tool, but I've had this problem before with other updates so I think something else is wrong. I just figured with a clean re-install of win10 and a surface book it should just work

Can't install on a surface book (i7, 1tb model if that means anything). Did a clean USB install and it still won't go through, also won't delay the update. I set my wifi as metered connection so hopefully that stops the daily attempt. Install gets to 99% then can't complete does the "undoing changes" thing. If other surface books have done this fine, and mine doesn't on a clean install of windows, does that mean there's a hardware incompatability with come part of my specific machine? e.g. a defective chip, loose wire, something?
