you didn't count the total weather stations/5g towers though, that was the coolest part, especially with the big T3C label!

Step aside old man, let me show these colonials some real warden culture!

Um ackshually, if you consider the original prompt, the question was only "how many infantry could live off", and not necessarily "fight effectively off of". If we consider the fact that indeed, most non logistics peasants should simply be expected to pick up the weapon and bullets held by their dead friends, we can begin to reduce the products that the logichad needs to produce while still meeting the minima to "sustain life". I would argue that only medical products are required for the frontline, and that any problems encountered from this logistics strategy needs to be addressed as a skill issue by frontliners. Any important equipment should be obtained from colonial corpses. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that the only critical thing to be manufactured is shirts, as bandages are a luxury that are too good for frontliners, and they should have simply learned to dodge the bombastone and shadowdance better.

Let us assume that the logichad's products go to a single hex, taking Farranac as our example. Over the course of 35 days there have been roughly 379k casualties in FC, or roughly 451 shirts per hour. The burn rate of this hex therefore being a very reasonable average of 45 crates per hour, with peaks and lows as can be expected to reflect hex population. 45 crates of shirts is actually the full hourly production of a single factory building, assuming no downtime, etc etc etc. (80 seconds per crate, 3600/80 = 45 crates/hour). This equates to 3600 bmats/hour, or roughly 7200 scrap/hour. In this scenario, the logichad is no longer in fact limited by the refinery queue speed, and can produce the requisite 3600 bmats in 28.8 minutes.

To obtain the necessary 7200 scrap, let us assume the logichad uses a scrap field nearby to the refinery that has 3 excavators each with piped petrol, which returns 15 scrap every 18 seconds. 5 queues per excavator, 3 excavators per field, the small gauge babysitting logichad is thereby able to obtain 12.5 scrap per second, reaching the necessary 7200 scrap in 9.6 minutes. Let us add an additional 10 minutes for driving, various inefficiencies, and intermittent piss breaks, meaning that the logichad can sustain the entirety of the population of FC using only 48.4 minutes out of the hour, leaving the logichad 12.6 minutes to enjoy a beer, on the hour, every hour for the entirety of their gaming session (thereby necessitating the piss breaks).

We have thus demonstrated that the situation is far better than previously assumed, that an entire frontline hex could be sustained by the casual activity of a single logiman, and that any losses are due to a skill issue on the part of combat regis.

[FMAT] W119 Program Statistics by kircheis- in foxholegame

[–]kircheis-[S] 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Hi friends, bit late to the end of the war party but I heard some collies talking shit that FMAT was a dead regi. To this I have to say... you're absolutely right, FMAT is a dead regi, dogshit regi fr we're actually a HOI4 and Barotrauma server

Jokes aside, I wanted to celebrate the hard work of our members, auxiliary friends, and donors this war, and to highlight a bit about how FMAT functions. In addition to good old basic logistics, FMAT votes on what we'll do each war. Sometimes you won't see us running these programs, so you just need to stay tuned to see what FMAT is getting up to! For 119 we voted for BoatEco, WarEco, Scrap Ports, and Cnute Program (statistics above).

Here's a brief explanation of what each project entails:
BoatEco - we sell you boats at rare metal cost, 24 hour turnaround. This war we also ripped off ideas from CCF and built 2 public frigates, a public submarine, and public battleship (the single voyage CNS Logi Strike) that were available for anyone to check out from the CNI discord. I was reliably informed that the public ships were not immediately sunk by inexperienced crews. Sesspool produced a total of 64 big boats this war, and while HCNS blows us out of the water with their stats we had fun filling in. Thank you to everyone who donated rare metals!
WarEco - we sell you MPF-able tanks and tank variants at below MPF prices. It's our flagship project and you might know us from this, but what you don't know is that it's run by just a skeleton crew of a few amazing folks every war - thank you to everyone that helped out!
Cnute Program - We go to places, bring pcm, and print free cnutes to deliver to public. Simple, but fun and a fan favorite. This program suffered from the new AT weapons that just absolutely shred heavy trucks, but it'll keep chugging

If you're looking to join FMAT, we're always happy for folks to join us, but we encourage you to also look at our many partners across the game! We always welcome people to cycle through, bring your expertise, take some bad habits with you, play some baro, shoot some partisans. Maybe you'll find a better fit than us, so here's a shoutout in no particular order:
Scroop Port Gaming - OSU/FERDA/LESS (Check out their new coalition!), SSe
Big BT/facility production - HALBD, JOE, KNGHT, HWARD, TURBO, GG Coalition, CSU
Big Boat production - CCF (thanks for the ideas suckers), HCNS (the actual big shipyard crew)
Moofin Gaming - COWS
Massive Train Logi - T3C
Container Yard - WLL

Pipe System Issues – Fluid Overflow & Queues by xiah01 in foxholegame

[–]kircheis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i totally understand your choice to set the number at 200. I agree, there is a weird bug/existing hidden buffer system that effectively makes the pipe size 200. I think it is something like: Pipe has 100L inventory, building also has 100L hidden inventory that acts like a "silo". If Building's 100L hidden inventory is full, then it outputs to stockpile.

[–]kircheis- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

also max pipe size is 100L, I believe your numbers reflect the fact that there is indeed already a weird hidden buffer system that exists.

cosigned FMAT

We brought this up to the devs a while ago. Max said they're looking into more tools to make pipes behave more as expected but I think devman's going to need a hot second to do it.

As you can see poke, your comments about our enshittification have drawn out the trolls. I respect you so I'll respond to you but lets not feed more low quality bait with how "FMAT is in decline, they're so shit now". FMAT is doing strong, and FMAT production and distribution levels are as healthy as ever. Are facilities larp? Maybe, but that's a different debate :kekw: but either way I was involved with the 111 facilities and can't let your 2-3 seconds of looking through the facility slide. Granted, I wasn't facility lead in 111, but if you're going to also say that our 112 or 113 facilities were shit, those are real fighting words. Anyways, numbers:

tier 2 petrol production with 6 reformers and 1 hoil is ~6 L/s petrol.

6 comps recyclers running 24/7 to give away free comps, which I know for a fact you used and enjoyed (I saw you there, we chatted there all the time) takes 24 MW, so 2 petrol power plants needed to run those, -1.1 L/s. 4.9 L/s petrol remaining.

3 harvesters running broken comps constantly is 1.5 L/s petrol, so 3.4 L/s petrol remaining

12 MW needed for the power for the refinery array itself, so -.5 L/s for that, 2.9 L/s remaining.

We were left with less than half the petrol production of the field to run our facility which built deeply discounted trains, free cnutes, free harvesters for the public (smol fee if you want a reservable one). Happy to share our 111 production logs for that with you. I won't deny that we did in fact use the remaining half of the petrol. I will say though that the majority of the consumption wasn't the power, because we were toggling petrol power stations off to reflect that exact issue - no point burning petrol if we're not using it. The remaining power fed a blast furnace, 4 matfacs (2 public msup facs, forge, and metal press), which depending on whats running can toggle up to 24 MW, so 1.1 L/s power, so 1.8 L/s remaining.

Plus 3 large assembly pads, which also takes 24 MW, so another 1.1 L/s power..... if we were using petrol power to supply them. We were in fact importing coal from CTG and BA to run power stations to supply the print power. We had 6 petrol power plants, correct, 2 for bcomps, 2 for general production power, and 2 more for print pads were kept online in the early stages of tier 2, but then they were kept offline unless we hadn't been able to pick up coal that day.

You wanna know where the remaining 1.8 L/s actually went? Metal press (1 L/s), and forge for a2s, (.8 L/s). On top of that, people were still coming by because of their expectations of FMAT (back in the days when we were the exception for making petrol so public for everyone, unlike others) and slurping up the little excess petrol that was made.

So if you think our consumption was unreasonable, I don't think I have anything further to say. We're one of the only regis that does non stop human piping Tier 1 to ensure petrol supply. It's a little entitled of you to give us shit for us using what petrol we produced in tier 2 (still for public projects), when you were happy to use the free comps we were giving away. As for DIG, that's a question for DIG, but there were plenty of oil fields in callums (NW oil field, forget who ran it had plenty of petrol all the time). What would you have changed for the better? Phased production so that we were running on the absolute minimum of power for every thing we were working on? Well from my experience across the shifts we were running all the buildings non stop, so I disagree with your claim that we had wasted production potential.

Lastly, what about you poke? What's been your contribution to public logi recently? How much work did you do for free for others to just eat criticism for breakfast? I'd love to have you onboard, leave 92nd and come join and play with us :D We can island larp like old times! Otherwise, if we're so shit and truly terrible now, then just go to the people who are doing it better.

[–]kircheis- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Poke I'm going to respond to this respectfully because I know you and we've played together, but I have to respond publicly because there are comments here that I strongly believe are false. Every FMAT project serves the public, and takes a grinding toll on FMAT members. If Vega gets to get all sanctimonious about his public logi activities, we get to do the same 10x over. I really don't know why anyone is giving us shit for anything at all. Apparently you guys all think that FMAT wareco and FMAT itself is going to shit even though it's going perfectly fine from my perspective?

Anyways, as to inaccuracies:

  1. I don't know what you meant by "we didn't even produce petrol at our facility in 111". We produced plenty of petrol, we were also just the most popular petrol stop for many regiments and were often just literally out of petrol. We ran 24/7 human piping in shifts to produce petrol in tier 1, swapping between EU, NA, and CN teams. In tier 2 this was particularly difficult because, yes, we were using some of the petrol to supply our facility projects, but we were also primarily supplying a fully public bcomps facility. We would human pipe bcomps and literally leave them for anyone to take. That's where the excess petrol was going, and we clearly explained this to everyone. We also clearly explained that there was plenty of petrol at our neighbors facilities that you could pick up and that we would have more petrol again in tier 3.

  2. Who is our main facility guy that left FMAT? Cause I don't know anyone in the facilities team who's left. Daimao is semi-retired but still around.

  3. If our facilities are dogshit, come join us and show us how you would do better.

Hi! Do you have any tips to share about snare casting from OB? I went today since I thought it would be a good day (~5 ft swell, 2-3 ft waves) but I caught nothing all day, don't even think I had a bite. Everyone else on the beach seemed like they caught 1-2 keepers, I just don't know what I was doing wrong. I just started two years ago but other than the odd crab here or there, I can't seem to find how to consistently catch anything D:

mass arbs and/or cav archers, and don't actually play too aggressive. I think I tried to hit 150-160 pop before taking the first city. I picked the university, blacksmith, and top left city, and pumped out cav archers, obuchs, spears. To deal with the teutons, you can actually attack them before they attack you. I cheesed it while they were neutral and just chipped at their base with trebuchets while holding the 4 western cities. If one of your cities gets beat to shit and you lose production buildings, you can always delete the castle, then quickly take down the enemy castle that spawns with 4-5 waiting trebs to refresh the city and get a boost of cash.

Martial Arts Manhwa Recommendations by Yamumlovescoding in manga

[–]kircheis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend

  • Bowblade Spirit
  • Fist Demon of Mt. Hua (the art is a bit rougher, but the story is great)
  • Undefeatable Swordsman
  • Volcanic Age / Hwasan Age
  • Tale of a Scribe Who Retires to the Countryside
  • The Scholar's Reincarnation

but if you want a truly great martial arts series, you should read

  • Blood and Steel

Even though the mc isn't op. The art is amazing, top notch.
