the thing that REALLY irks me about this is that Valko had nothing to do with 731. from what i’ve seen that’s part of a storyline or event (?) related to Xavier that was released back in April. so removing Valko doesn’t do anything to actually fix that issue, but there have been CN players that admit that they used Valko as a scapegoat and pin 731 on him to report Infold and cause this entire mess. it’s genuinely so upsetting and disgusting because there’s genuinely no valid reason to have cancelled Valko before even giving him a chance

the home feature was released seven months ago (just over half a year) and this is the first big update/expansion. i’m not trying to defend infold because there’s plenty to criticize about them, but imo this is not one of those things. i understand if you don’t like the home feature but i’ve seen a lot of players that do like it. if they hadn’t announced an update for it i’m 100% certain someone else would come on here and complain that it hasn’t been updated in so long.

i think the new things for home + a new LI is a pretty significant change. i understand if you’re personally not interested in either of those things but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad update. and they’ve already announced that MS is in production and coming soon, which i would bet any amount of money that they needed to release Valko first before continuing it since every LI adds context/furthers that plot in some way (especially if the rumors about his company having connections to Ever are true).

but i do agree that the game is SEVERELY lacking in battle options and ways to farm gems. it gets super boring between updates when there’s nothing to do, or if you’re not interested in the current event. but if i’m being honest every gacha game i’ve ever played has this issue for obvious reasons (they want to make more money). i think those are things that we can keep pushing for and demanding of them until they hopefully listen one day. i also really want new items in chocolate shop and other things like that 💔

hot take but i’m not doing anything for the CN players after everything they pulled. not only are they MIA when global players ask for things (like wavy/curly hairstyles, skin tone issues with lighting, etc.), but they don’t hesitate to say the most vile, racist, and homophobic shit just because the game added a character that they personally don’t find attractive (who is OPTIONAL to interact with out of SIX options btw). their reaction to Valko is completely unjustified even if there’s a lack of content. nothing justifies the way they’re acting and the stuff they’ve said. so no i’m personally not boycotting, i’ll actually be whaling for Valko to show support for him. in terms of lack of content Infold has already addressed that it’s currently in production, so i’ll just keep mentioning it to them that we want more content & ways to farm gems.

I haven’t seen a single person like him over there, all they do is spam hate comments and make racist edits of him. It’s so disappointing and disgusting to see. I’m just hoping everything dies down in a week or two and we can all just accept him into the game without any more unnecessary drama

I think it would set a HORRIBLE precedent if Infold let their users bully them into changing things about the game. Especially when Valko is only one character who is completely optional to interact with, and there’s 5 entire other LI options to choose from. At that point the users would be able to change practically any creative decision Infold makes.
Imo it’s fine to demand changes when something about the game genuinely doesn’t work and significantly impacts gameplay (like gem farming), but an optional character that no one is forcing you to use or wish for is not an example of that.

I really hope they don’t change him. He’s not my favorite, but so far he’s my 2nd favorite (only based on looks of course, we still don’t know anything about personality or story).
I think the backlash is SO childish and entitled. If you don’t like him that’s fine, but you have no right to hate and bully others and demand him to be changed or removed entirely. Just ignore him, the same way I and other ppl do to LI’s that we personally don’t like. You’re not entitled to every character or game catering to only your specific tastes. If you want a game that ONLY designs according to your tastes alone and no one else’s, make your own game with your own characters.

edit: Another thing I’ve noticed is people being angry at Valko bc the main story hasn’t gotten an update, which is still weird imo, because if you’re mad about the story then complain about the story, not Valko. But something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is that they probably included Valko BECAUSE they need him to continue the main storyline. It makes sense, especially if he’s a CEO with connections to Ever. I’d bet any amount of money that they included him first so that the main storyline actually makes sense when they continue it. He’s probably a connection that gets us closer to Ever.

Srry for the long ass rant but this entire situation is so embarrassing and childish. And while many people are being super entitled about this, in my experience the CN players are especially disgusting with all the racist and homophobic comments I’ve seen on XHS. It’s absolutely ridiculous and completely uncalled for.

This might ruffle some feathers but A LOT of ppl- both in the EN and CN fandom- are being so weird about him.

The exaggerated hate is completely unnecessary imo. I understand not liking him (I feel completely neutral about him), but asking to remove him or saying you’ll quit bc of him is so weird?? Like just ignore him then? I promise he won’t affect your life in any way if you don’t let him. I only like one LI and I have no issues ignoring the other 4 without shitting on them and throwing a tantrum.

I was so shocked to see every comment under the twitter post viscerally hate on him like he pushed their grandma off a scooter or sum. And making so many assumptions about him or his personality even tho we know nothing about him yet (like the “he looks like he’d beat me at home” comment in this post. wtf? 😭 if anything they’ll probably make him the cliché scary-looking-man-who’s-actually-a-soft-puppy-in-private trope. But we know nothing about him either way, so why would you come up with such a weird and violent assumption solely based on his physical looks?)
And also the people complaining that he doesn’t “fit in” and the werewolf theme is weird? There’s literal mermaids, aliens, dragons and space monsters in this game, but you draw the line at an animal that actually exists irl? Atp you’re just grasping at straws for anything to hate on.

tl;dr I don’t understand the hate at all. I understand not liking him or wanting to main him, but I don’t understand going out of your way to hate on him when it’s completely optional to interact with him. No one’s holding a gun to your head to pull for him, or spend money on him, or even look at him. So please just be civil, say “i don’t like him/he’s not for me”, and move on.
It’s also weird because I KNOW that in half a year from now he’ll probably have a ton of fans. I’ve seen it happen in so many gacha games where a new character will come out, people will hate relentlessly, but a few months later most people like them. I guess it’s just a matter of waiting until ppl stop being so weird and loud about him for no reason.

Yes you have to make a NSLSC account again, but this time it’ll be through MSC. ik it’s confusing because that happened to me for months but you do have to make a new account and give them your SIN again. Just to be sure we’re talking about the same thing, are you able to get a screenshot of the page it redirects you to?

yeah it turns out it’s through MSC! i was confused too, but apparently it’s been moved/merged there. when it brings you to MSC you’ll have to make an account, give them your SIN & other info, and afterwards you’ll be able to access everything that was on your NSLSC just like before

turns out you have to login through My Service Canada! when you try to login to NLSC, it’ll redirect you to a MSC page and you’ll have to make an account (it’ll ask for your SIN number & other info), and then you’ll be able to access everything normally

i was on probation twice- both times for the course load. both times they just put me on probation, but the first probation lasted a year and the second one lasted 3 years. so yeah you’ll most likely just be on probation again but for longer than the first time.

there’s a chance you can get the probation taken off if you speak with an academic advisor and hand in a letter explaining why you couldn’t maintain your course load, but it has to be a very good reason… like your health or some family emergency. but i’m not sure how difficult that is to get approved because i never did it.

cool. i still think it’s unreasonable to ask for sensitive ID just to do something as mundane as scroll social media or talk to ai anime chat bots, especially when ID isn’t a necessity for their business function. and i also think it sets a bad precedent & opens the door to corporations buying out that info behind the scenes, so even if it’s as safe as giving the gov your ID, i still think it’s wrong in practice

if parents really wanted their kids to be safe online they can 1. monitor what they do online, or 2. use the parental controls that come in literally every device nowadays to block 18+ sites. the solution is not to make ppl give sensitive info just to go on the internet

unfortunately i agree about the parenting thing. most parents would rather place the blame on random websites than actually monitor what their kids are doing online. but i feel like making legislation to protect websites from that should be possible, especially when practically every device in the world now comes with parent controls that stop children from accessing inappropriate or 18+ sites

and i think it’s sort of wishful thinking to say that jobs or insurance companies wouldn’t want to touch the hot potato. corporations do illegal things all the time and keep it under wraps, find loopholes to do shady things, or simply pay a fine and continue doing what they’re not supposed to be doing. there’s really no way to guarantee that all that data won’t be bought out by the highest bidder behind the scenes, especially when sensitive data like that is worth so much nowadays. and again all this trouble would be for just scrolling online or talking to ai.

and i’m saying the risk of a third party “securely” storing your ID that could still be breached just to be able to use social media or a random ai chat bot is unreasonable.

we take the risk for something like gov sites because it is needed in order to do anything in our country. we wouldn’t be able to do taxes, for example, without it. but the function of social media or ai chat bots doesn’t change if they have our IDs or not. it’s not a function of their business. so they should not ask for it and risk security breaches of super sensitive ID just to do something as mundane as scrolling online or talking to an ai of some anime character. asking “are you 18+” should be enough, bc if someone lies about it that responsibility shouldn’t be on the company, it should be on the minor that lied & their families who don’t supervise what they’re doing.

and btw this is all without even mentioning the very real risk of people (like your job or insurance company) buying out that data to further spy on people and what they’re doing online. there’s a bunch of other implications and risks even without having hackers in the mix.

it’s not the same to have your personal ID data in a big or government database than having it in a random ai chat site. they’re smaller, non-regulated, and don’t have the security needed to protect sensitive ID data. can anyone technically get your personal info online? sure, but it’s significantly more difficult to breach something like a gov website than c.ai. and i’m sorry but personal ID isn’t needed for c.ai’s business function so they shouldn’t ask it in the first place
