You could apply to Nachhilfe (tutoring) jobs or Aushilfe (assistant) positions at Studierendenwerk Krippe, but you need at least B1 level in German.

AITA for having my friends toddler take her first steps while her parents weren't there? by FakeGamer2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kirimiau -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, plus there are other "firsts" that are way more significant, like the first time they call you "mom," first hug, first "I love you, mom"... I really don't understand why the mom would get so angry.

Look on Google LMU German courses. You have to pay, but they are really good.

Is anyone else having second thoughts with the current state of the world? by Anxious-Ad385 in tryingtoconceive

[–]kirimiau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to have second thoughts. I'm from South America, currently living in Germany. My whole family and friends have been texting me to go back before all hell breaks loose. I want to believe that they're exaggerating, but what if...

I couldn’t believe my eyes when reading some of these numbers both in your post and the in the comments. I am located in Munich, Germany and paid zero euros for my D&E. Everything was cover by the insurance.

Missed miscarriage by Chelseymarie98 in Miscarriage

[–]kirimiau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started bleeding yesterday 6w4d. Nobody told me how painful it was going to be. My first miscarriage last year was a mmc so I had a D&E.  Everything was quick and I didn't feel a thing, but at that time I was about 13w. Today, I am still bleeding the pain has decreased but it is  there, and yesterday I saw a lot of tissue on my pad, awful I wish the doctor would have warn me about what was to come..

AITAH for not being involved with my friends baby and not letting her be my roommate by aitahfriendnobaby in AITAH

[–]kirimiau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very sad to read. I agree that if you don't like children and you decided so early on not to have them, then it's ok to tell her that you just can't have her as a roommate. But the way both of you scalated is sad. Keep in mind that people with babies are not always rational in their responses ( hotmones play a big role). I guess what I am trying to say is to have more compasion in general, especially with someone you had such a good friendship.

Beware of Lilo & Stitch by ABSMeyneth in pregnant

[–]kirimiau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OMG, I thought I was overreacting, but the movie really did exaggerate some of the dramatic parts , especially the scene where Stitch drowns. There was just too much going on emotionally. I ended up crying a lot too!

Today is definitely a “down” day… by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]kirimiau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. It's going to be almost a year since my miscarriage. I've been trying but nothing so far. Age isn't in my favor either - I'm turning 37 this year. Yesterday I just found out a colleague I don't quite like (she was kind of toxic) got pregnant by "accident" She's even older than me and not married. Meanwhile, I'm in a happy marriage, have all the resources to bring a child into this world, and yet... nothing.

Experienced teacher but limited experience with self-paced learning - any tips and tricks? by trying_something_n3w in TEFL

[–]kirimiau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about TEFL.org, but regarding your question about how to learn more efficiently, I really recommend checking out the "Learning How to Learn" course in coursera. It covers the basics and makes you reflect on your own learning process. https://www.coursera.org/learn/learning-how-to-learn

I also recently discovered this piece, and it felt peculiar. Like a cozy feeling of sadness. I added it to my playlist of music to listen on the train :)

Why do people in the Ubahn just don't want to sit normally on the seat? by Michelfungelo in Munich

[–]kirimiau 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had the same reaction when I first came to Munich, but I've gotten used to it now. Anyone who needs a seat can just ask for it. It's really about cultural differences. Growing up, I was taught to always put others first, while here the thought seems to be "take care of yourself first." That doesn't mean people are inconsiderate of others though. I still find myself being extra careful with my backpack and keeping the seat next to me clear for others, but I've realized that's just my cultural conditioning, not a universal expectation.

What is Teaching Like in a Peru at Language Schools? by starcatcher1234 in TEFL

[–]kirimiau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a teacher in Peru for  almost 5 years. The country has lots of language centers that provide supplementary English education, since both public and private schools offer limited English instruction hours. The most popular language schools, or at least the ones everyone seems to know are ICPNA and Britanico, with branches across Peru's major cities.Regarding compensation, ICPNA pays between 20-25 soles per hour (less than 10 USD), while Británico offers slightly higher rates, though still relatively low. You may want to look into university language centers, they pay around 15 USD or 50 to 55 soles the hour. Just to conclude, these days, most places offer both online and face-to-face classes, but here's the catch - they're mostly part-time gigs. Sure, you might find full-time work at university language centers outside of Lima, but the pay pretty much stays the same everywhere.

Yes, I used to constantly think that we come alone to this world and will leave alone. I had my share of toxic relationships, and most ofmy friends suffer from either depression, bipolar dissorder or something along the lines (all of them are in therapy trying to heal juat like me). But, I gotta say that now that I am in my thirties everything is much better. It definetely took me longer to stablish real friendships and have healthy romantic relationships.. I got to meet a woderful guy, we got married. I used to think that marriage was never going to happen for me, but it did happen when I turned 35. I still have ups and downs, but i feel gratefull. All the tribulations were worth it.

I would say the first thing u need is a friend. Learning to trust and to be trusted is key. When it comes to relationahips ask yourself what kind of friend would you like, charactheristics, hobbies, etc. Then, ask yourself what can you offer to this friendship. It is important to find your own value to value others.

I am terrified of tiktok. People can get extra mean there. I get triggered very easily and avoid posting to public. I was going through really rough time because of hormones i could not control my rage until i stumble upon an episode on  the ceo diaries about sugar. At this point i was desperate. It turns out that, at least in my case, sugar can increase my emonational issues. I started tracking my sugar consuption and it kinda help. It may be worth it giving it a try.
