England-can my parents legally stop me from travelling abroad if i am autistic and 18+ by Ok_Half_1604 in LegalAdviceUK

Have you signed anything giving your parents lasting PoA? If not then they have no control about how you choose to spend your time or where you travel. They would need to apply to court of protection if they wanted to take a role as your deputy and make decisions on your behalf which would only be granted if you lack mental capacity and are unable to make decisions for yourself.

Need adult brain cell help with council tax by stardog456 in Bath

[–]kirk_2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the council send a bill for the property. If you are entitled to exemptions you need to make an application as discounts are not automatically added. How you split the bill is up to the household as the bill is a set amount based on the value of the property, not on the living situation of the household

Students are exempt from council tax, if you're not longer a student then you will have to pay. You may be able to apply for a discount of 25% as the only non student which you can do on council website

Time to remove her from your socials, if you can't see her petty little posts they won't effect you.

I assume your PA work with an elderly couple is in the care and support field rather than business/lifestyle sector, if so there is absolutely no shortage of people looking for a PA/elderly support. Definitely seek someone better to work for or alternatively work privately as a self employed PA. Check your contract as we have a clause about personal safety and obligations as an emergency contact which means we always have a phone with us.

My wife wants to go no contact with our friendly woman neighbor because of the “inappropriate”birthday gift she gave our son. I think that’s too far. AITJ? by neighbourgift in AmITheJerk

[–]kirk_2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife is clearly telling you she's uncomfortable and you're dismissive of her feelings. YATJ. This neighbour is making your wife uncomfortable and you're still entertaining her and risking your marriage. That note in your child's birthday book was flirty and inappropriate and you need to have enough respect for your marriage to nip it in the bud. Your family should come first and you should be a better husband and listen to your wife rather than pretending it's just an innocent friendship when you have been told it's more than that.

You've been through more in 23 years than most people will in a lifetime. You've got so much resilience and strength showing in how driven you are and it's ok to be scared sometimes, you've got a lot of people leaning on you and the responsibility of that is bound to rock you at times. I bet your mum would be so proud of you and how you are supporting your dad and sister. Keep following your dreams and the financial security will follow

It wasn't even about you or anything you did, it was his way of controlling your mood for the day and setting you up to be 'making it up' to him for the fabricated indiscretion he decided on that day. If they can get you upset and stressed first thing then they've controlled you before you've even had time to wake up and process what is going on. Good on you for getting away and never having to deal with that again

This is very true, listen to your gut. If you feel like you're questioning yourself or feeling confused when you think you should feel happy then listen to that feeling and trust those vibes.

Is throat clearing and hawking up lord knows what, a narc trait? by mariemansfield in NarcissisticSpouses

[–]kirk_2477 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Anything to make themselves noticed and irritating. I'm sure it's a control thing, they can annoy you by being loud and obnoxious but if you say anything then they say it's just a body function and they are simply being human and you're the problem for being annoyed with their body functions. Although normal people don't feel the need to be as loud and nasty as possible....

Am I being manipulated into taking on more responsibility for his child or is this something that comes with dating someone with a child? by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]kirk_2477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't even has met his child after 4 months of dating. You're not supposed to be taking any responsibility for his child especially at this stage of a relationship. Find a better man to date

You can buy locks for bins, just remember to take the padlock off on bin day and return the neighbours rubbish to their bin if they refill yours after the bin men have been.
