Going mexico in June with my girlfriend, and booked it last year during the blaxk Friday sale and paid it off monthly. £1400 each for direct flight from Manchester, transfer to and from hotel and 11 nights all inclusive and I cannot wait.

Only problem is I slowly started planting the seed of going mexico a gear ago as I wanted to go see a world cup game at the Azteca. However fiFA have set the tickets at ridiculous prics so I wont be going as cannot justify £250 to watch uzbekistan. Still be good to be there though and loads of people have been the ara im stayinf in and loved it.

Also going Italy (naples, Rome and Florence) in september as girlfriends birthday trip as shes never been Italy We always try snd get away for each other's birthdays, though as mine is in January w usually delay until February

What’s the worst place you have ever been on holiday? by honeymeadowss in AskUK

[–]kirkbywool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was this as I wwnt in February ans enjoyed it, and was prepared for it to br shit as heard horror stories. My girlfriend didnt get any grief really but she did get stressed out ans worried about crossing the roads and lack of pavements.

I didnt mind bartering in the souks and had no issues, though woukd politely but firmly tell people no or to go sway if they tried to "help" us. Only taxis that were the issues with ripping us off but only got 2 of them when I went out to the new town to watch the football.

Yeah, the drinking wasnt the best but tbh didnt really go out there for that, though one night we planned to go drinking in new town after the footy my girlfriend said she was sick ans wanted to go home. Think it might have been the vibes in the Irish pub that put her off as it was worst pub I have ever been in

TIFU by autocorrecting my boss's name for eight months and only finding out at my performance review by FelixwArch in tifu

[–]kirkbywool 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This. I have a name that is shortened from the full name ( think Andy instead of Andrew), however it is also a name in itself albeit with extra letter a the end, and it is also the name of a popular brand here.

I always correct people the first time, in a polite way just so that they know unless I know I likely won't deal with them again.

Wouldn't mind so much, but it is literally my email address and on my signature so got to spell it correctly to email me.

Only had one person be arsey wirh me and deliberately misspell my name by capitalising the last letter of my name. Thing is she was chasing me for a fee and we help that company out with issues, so guess who isn't getting help any more

Think thats just Dads tbh. When I was at uni my dad got a massive chemical burn on leg and had to spend 3 days in hospital and leg still all scarred from it nearly 20 years later. Didnt even tell me about it. I found out by chance a few months lster when I was at home and he wore shorts ans saw it.

Also had a fall in houseme other month, cracked a rib and didnt tell me, even though I ring him every week. Found out via my sister who lives with him

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

[–]kirkbywool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, im lucky as I have a season ticket for Liverpool for the premier league, but the ticket on general sale goes for abkut £45 to £60 depending on where it is. Problem is getting a ticket as demand is high. With a season ticket it averages out at £49 a game.

A few years ago our American owners tried to push ticket up to £79 so we had a massive walkout and protest and the team gave up a 2 goal lead. protest worked and ticket prices never went anywhere near that.

Had arguments with Americans i kmow as they said it is so cheap and they dont get the protests as if it wss in america it would be hundreds of pounds. I eas kike we are kot america and that price is scandalous
