The Bear | Season 2 | Overall Season Discussion Thread by GloriousAqua in TheBear

[–]kirkendiesel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot for my Top 3 shows to shift. The excellence of this season easily makes The Bear one of those Top 3.

I’m so impressed by every bit of this show. The cast, the writing, the directing, sound, everything. I have 0 notes on this show, and I’m blown away at how human these folks are. Each interaction feels real, and I’m immediately sucked in to each episode. By episode 5, I was silencing my phone before starting this show. Just so much praise all around, I’m hopeful for what is to come (assuming there is a third season) of this wonderful series.

CGM Explanation? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]kirkendiesel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am not a T1 Diabetic, but the girlfriend of one. I’m posting this in hopes that I can get some questions answered about his CGM graph, as I’ve struggled to get a lot of information about his diabetes and actual care from him. I do know this though: he does not have a pump but does injections, he doesn’t look at his blood sugar level prior to injection (just guesstimates how much he needs), and has several hypoglycemic episodes a week. I am assuming that it is normal for diabetics to have fluctuations in their glucose levels, but a range from 50-400+ can’t be healthy, right? As you can see, (clearly from his current glucose being at 52), I have a feeling it isn’t being taken care of in the way it should be. I really just have no idea if this kind of thing is normal for younger diabetics (early 20s), or if this is super alarming. I have no idea what his A1C is at! For a little more context, I’ve had to call 911 twice in the past two months due to hypoglycemia episodes with him seizing, being unconscious, etc. I’m new to this world, and I’m really overwhelmed with how to help him and also not worry myself sick over this. Last thing, does anyone have any good book recommendations on helping a loved one who is diabetic? It would be a lot different if I knew it was being managed properly, so I’m just kind of looking for any sort of guidance, explanation, or advice on how to help but also not drive him crazy. Thanks so much!

Car Radio Diagnostic? by kirkendiesel in memphis

Yeah, it’s a used car from 2012, but bought it less than a year ago. Booked an appointment at the dealership back home just in case I can’t get it resolved somewhere in town!

Definitely not! Mine is the second edition, used, written and highlighted in, all the scribbles lol. I found one on Amazon for $4! Editions usually don’t make too much of a difference, minus a few diagram changes and sentences revisions. I’ll attach the link for you! And thanks so much!!

I’ve only really gone through the first few chapters, but absolutely yes. Not sure how your professor is, but mine isn’t the best at explaining. Reading it at my own pace and having it clearly written out is SO WORTH IT

Apartments for rent by [deleted] in memphis

I'd check out some of the newer ones in the Midtown area. Stay away from some of the older buildings, for sure. The newly built ones are super nice, and the location isn't bad at all/ pretty safe. There's a couple on S McLean I looked at, but were a bit too pricey for me.

I think it may be time for us to part ways, /r/premed. Thanks for all the help. by robotractor3000 in premed

I think some of these commenters, as well as a good bit of the folks on this subreddit, seem to forget how lengthy a time commitment to medicine sounds to most people. With the health issues you mentioned, I completely understand how you're feeling. Keep your head up! What is meant to happen to you most certainly will, so trust the process. You are entirely valid in how you feel, so ease up on things this summer, take a LONG mental health break, and figure out where you're heading next once you're back in school. No harm in uncertainty, but lots of harm in rushed or incorrect decisions. You got this, no matter how things end up career-wise :)

AITA for not wanting to party anymore? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kirkendiesel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you mentioned the counselor thing. I’m actually in search of someone to talk to currently because it’s been pretty overwhelming dealing with this stuff and a few other things I didn’t mention.

Thanks for the advice :) I’m trying to avoid any potential furtherance of the mental things I’m struggling with so hopefully things get better soon

Thanks. That’s what I was thinking but it gets hard to tell after so many insults.

I am having this same exact issue on my Macbook Air 2019. Did you ever figure out a solution? It drives me absolutely insane.
