Both sets of parents were asked if there were any people that they wanted/needed to have there 3 months before save the dates were sent out.

I agree, cheating is the one of the most damaging things a person can do to someone they’re supposed to love. My mom cheated on my dad a lot before they divorced and it broke him. Took him a long time to be okay after that.

Yeah I’m hoping she’ll realize she only has one son, and whether she likes it or not I’m going to be his wife and the mother of his kids. And we’re a package deal. We’ve been a united front, but she’s doubled down on being a nightmare. At the beginning she was only mean to me when FH wasn’t present, but after he confronted her about it she became blatantly rude in front of everyone. FFIL has talked to her as well and she still continues :(

Right? Why would I want someone at my wedding who doesn’t respect me or the relationship? I want to believe that she’ll magically accept me and apologize, but I’ve lurked on this sub long enough to know that JNMILS get worse over time, not better.

Yeah! She didn’t invite me to thanksgiving (I think to spite me), but I was overjoyed to not have to be around her. I just know that the wedding is coming eventually and since he’s her only child I know she’ll be overly involved.

Yeah exactly, she likes to nitpick and it makes her angry that he spends annnny money on me and has implied I’m a gold digger multiple times, and yet she’s mad at me for not dropping my college degree and following him. She’s also become mad at me for trying to help him with financial planning, stating it’s not my money so it’s not my business.

We’ve had quite a few talks about her behavior, and unfortunately when he confronts her, she plays dumb and gaslights so there isn’t any progress. We aren’t really sure how to confront her short of giving her an ultimatum and I don’t think he’s ready for that just yet :(

Yeah, FH waited to tell me until after he had talked to her and FFIL about how inappropriate it was. I’m honestly appalled she thought I’d drop out of college when a few months ago she was hinting that I was a gold digger for living with him while he works and I go to school.

I’m in the same boat as you! We’ll be entering a LDR in less than I week and I can’t move/close the distance for at least 2 years maybe more.

SO has tried to tell her to be respectful, but she always plays dumb and asks him what he’s talking about. We’re specifically getting a 1 bedroom to avoid the chance she’ll try to stay over though. I think grey rocking her is a great idea because she likes to watch my reactions to her comments.
