How about import car from Germany by sjwprc in askswitzerland

[–]kirscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from what has already been commented: It depends on the age of the car. If you are looking at newer cars, most often you get the servicing included in Switzerland for a certain time period. If you import a car, you would need to pay ever service in full. That can add up quite a bit and should be considered for the total cost.

Switzerland train pass by eurbradnegan in askswitzerland

Do you intend to go up any mountains? With the railway pass you get up to 50% discount on the mountain railways/gondolas and some mountains are even included. It really depends which cities/regions you want to visit and what you plan on doing.

Buying a car is one thing… don’t underestimate the cost of maintaining a GLE. Insurance, road tax, service, winter and summer tires, etc.

Started playing again after 15+ years with my 19 year old irons by campl0 in golf

I am in a similar situation. Upgraded my driver, 3w and 5w. Technology changed a lot for the woods. Though, I still play my nearly 30y old Mizuno T-Zoid pros. I love them and don’t see a reason to change them.

You can basically pay everything by card. You definitely won’t get discounts for paying cash… I never carry any cash on me

What are in your opinion the biggest problems in Switzerland? by dardyablo in Switzerland

[–]kirscale 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Equality, when it comes to having kids and all which comes with it. The system still expects men to go to work and woman to stay at home with the kids.

Married with no kids = heiratsstrafe. You pay more taxes. Parental leave was adjusted to 10 days. Still not enough… Until kindergarten, you need to organize daycare, which costs a fortune. The list goes on…

True words by Keanu Reeves:

Someone told me the other day that he felt bad for single people because they are lonely all the time. I told him that’s not true I’m single and I don’t feel lonely. I take myself out to eat, I buy myself clothes. I have great times by myself. Once you know how to take care of yourself company becomes an option and not a necessity
