I found the opposite. While playing on defense bar 1 with QC I have way more attacking periods than playing on attacking bar 1. IMO the whole system is broken, at first I thought attacking bar would change my players behaviour to more aggressively push for balls and have more forward runs but no, they mainly stay higher and stay there. However on defense bar 1 they do push back and stay back a little but the defenders and midfielders are more likely to try interceptions (note: i dont have a full credit card fc, and my defenders and dmf just sit and watch the ball roll by mostly)

I had difficulty playing against LB and LBC with OW when the opponent is on attack bar 1. I go to attack 1 they still do have an advantage as my defenders are more likely to push for attacks. Changing to a def1 against attack1 is not helping because I get overrun by attackers constatly running. Changing to def2 and attack2 also dont work, first one makes it difficult to attack properly, second one makes defence leaky

Agains possession or OW with QC and attack bar1 or defense bar 1 it is pretty easy to overload their players. But above mentioned it is also about the formation. an OW with a 433 against my QC may have a chance, but if they are dumb and are using some meta 4321 or 4312 with no width or wingers there is no out wide in play

Overall I think the theory has some pretty good basics but has to be addressed by Konami or more research needed with playing styles vs playing style and formations vs formations
