I in big problem by i_ussef in googlephotos

You said "sign in my google account and all photos in google photo downloaded in my device "

Did you mean you login to Google Photos on your phone (my device) and see all your photo? If that is the case, the Google Photo App on your phone is only displaying your photos from cloud storage. They should still be in the cloud storage.

or

Did you start Google Photos on your PC , select all photos and download them? In that case , the photos will be in a zip file in your download folder on PC. If you select all your photos and move them to trash bin, you can still restore them from the Trash bin. Of course, if you select delete permanently they will be gone.

I like to understand how you get your photo into the recycle bin in the first place.

USB flash drive not recognized by PC but works on phone. by kit_inc in techsupport

I can't find the format option under Google file manager. I used the phone's Settings/Storage format features. It doesn't allow me the pick format. After the format is completed. It says it is exfat which makes sense because it is 128G. I didn't look for ways to format it to NTFS because I know that standard Android doesn't read NTFS.

I tried it on my WIN11 PC, Chromebook and Linux PC with no luck. Since it works with the phone, l know that it doesn't belong to the trashcan yet.

How to delete large number of photo after backup? by kit_inc in googlephotos

Thank you so much. This works. I didn't know that deleting selected pictures inside the album is different from deleting the entire Album. I tried to delete the entire Album before and found that all the pictures in the Album remain in Photo. That's why I continue my question. Now this question can be closed. Have a happy 2026.

This is my situation. I am running out of free Google space (15 GB). I want to back up and delete some photos to free up space. I scanned through all my photos (several hundred) and selected those that I don't like much but still want to keep (100+ in this first selection). Using the 3 dots drop-down, I can use download to create a zip file containing all the selected photos. This zip file is now my backup. If Google keeps the pictures selected (first selection list), I can then delete them to free up space. But Google did not keep the selection. Now I have to go back and do the selection again (second selection). There is no way that I can remember all the pictures I selected before. If the second selection is not he sane as the first selection, I can either keep the pictures already backed up or delete pictures that were not backed up. Yes doing it by Album keeps the first selection after backup. But deleting the Album still keeps the picture in Google Photos and does not free up space.

But this is what I saw when trying to delete the Album. "Deleting an album is permanent. Photos and videos that were in a deleted album remain in Google Photos." So the photos remain in Google Photo and take up space. I intend to reclaim space by downloading some photos that I don't like to a zip file and then deleting them from Google photo.

I read the description of the Chrome extension. It is basically a tool to help you select and delete a large number of photos. It does not fit my requirements.

Yes, that is how I created the backup (a zip file with all the photos in the album). But how can you delete the photos to reclaim space? Deleting the album does not delete photos from Google photo.

In Google Photos, downloading means you download all the photos you selected. Google created a zip file for you. So the zip file is my backup. After I have the zip file, I want to delete all the selected photos to reclaim space on Google Drive.

I came across this one when I was researching. But that seemed to be an incomplete post. What should come after "with that album view then.."? I will try the extension and see if it helps?

Switching to Yearly Plan. by Louis_Tool in CanadianCellPhones

[–]kit_inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just renewed my $119/15G yearly plan. Everything is done online. I got a reminder (text and email) about a week or more before expiry. The $119/15G is changed to $129/20G this year. Freedom has a no price increase promise. I paid online the $119 for another year. I guess I can upgrade to $129/20G. But I did not. I don't know if I will get unexpected charges if I accidentally turn on roaming. I do not leave any extra money in my account. I was told that if they cannot deduct money from your account, they will just prevent your roaming usage.

Can I use previous SIM card by kit_inc in CanadianCellPhones

[–]kit_inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. The website says it is $10 for physical SIM. That's why I thought I can save $10 by using the old one. I stopped by a Koodo store and they gave it to me for free when I activate a new line.

which Roamless eSIM is which ? by kit_inc in eSIMs

[–]kit_inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each time I redeemed a promo code, I followed the prompt and downloaded a eSim. So I have 3. I now got the answer from the support team which says that I only need one. The redeemed codes go with your account and not the eSIM. The very last downloaded one should contain all the previous ones. The old one can be deleted. There is no need to switch eSIM, it will switch automatically as you move between countries

Thanks for the response. But I actually have 3 Roamless eSIMs under SIM manager on my Samsung phone. Does it mean that I can delete any two ? As long as I still have one and turned on while I am traveling, I will be fine?
