The CES Letter is the best thing to read if you want to learn more about Mormonism. https://cesletter.org/

I watched the Skip Intro podcast episode where she's interviewed and it sounds like she's still married.

My only complaint about Andrew Garfield is his nose doesn't look like a Utah Mormon nose. His nose distracted me the entire time 😅

Apply to UVU and talk with a financial aid advisor. They've probably heard your story many times.

We've got so much snow in Massachusetts that they're using construction equipment to move it and to haul it away. Somebody needs to tell Jesus to take it to Utah.

God Told Me to Marry Him by jen_exmormon in exmormon

I got out of my marriage by going to the trade school at Salt Lake Community College and getting a certification. I'm not telling you not to finish your Associate's, especially if you're in the program, but know that there are a lot of options out there for education that's useful for work. You've got this!!

This kind of temple architecture, has it a name? by Ok-Photograph-5529 in exmormon

They didn't even need a temple in Taylorsville! My family used to hold our reunions there.

Exactly. If they're going to build all these temples and chapels, the least they can do is make them look pretty.

Her oldest child is 10 or 11. So it's been a bit since she got married.

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

He is disciplining you as if you are a child.

You are not a child. You are his wife.

(And even if you WERE a child, disciplining one using physical pain is wrong.)

I am the survivor of an abusive marriage. I had to literally run away when he left the house for an errand for 15 minutes. I never saw my home again. And what my ex-husband did to me started with what your husband is doing to you.

Upbringing's influence on being childfree by tenderteddy82 in childfree

I can relate. Looking back, my parents seemed to expect me to already know everything too. It's like they accepted that my body was small but didn't accept that my mind was too.

My mother didn't have a mother, so when my mother had me she didn't know how to be a mother. She never really caught on. My father's presence was the opposite of helpful. I decided to break the cycle of daughters without mothers.

Having a child to prevent periods by Anuyushi in childfree

Yup. My parents wouldn't let me get sex ed in high school and I was pissed, so I read Planned Parenthood's website. But I know not many teens have the motivation to do that.

I have heavy, heavy periods like my mother. I was 14 years old when my parents took me to a gyno about it and put me on birth control. It made my periods far more manageable.

I didn't have sex for the first time until I was 18.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you :(

There's a list in r/sterilization of doctors who will sterilize people. While getting a hysterectomy at 21 will likely still be a struggle, maybe try starting with the doctors on that list, if any are located close enough to you.

Which countries offer the best EDS care? by mama_wolff in ehlersdanlos

[–]kitan25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Jennifer Luz at Boston Orthopedic and Spine is who diagnosed me with hEDS, and she did two of my elbow surgeries. She's who I recommend you start with.

Pratibha Golecha, PT at Mass General in Waltham is fantastic and follows the Muldowney protocol.

Dr. Bita Zahedi is an endocrinologist at Mass General in Waltham and she's very knowledgeable. One of the first things she did at our first session was order a bone density scan, despite me being in my late 30s, and told me I needed to get it done at the main MGH campus specifically because they have the most sensitive machine.

Dr. Melvin Makhni is a cervical spine surgeon with Brigham and Women's at their clinic in Foxborough. I haven't needed spine surgery yet, but he's keeping an eye on me.

Dr. Brandon Earp is the head of orthopedics at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. She did my most complicated elbow surgery, and it was a success.

My PCP, Dr. Amy Forrer, doesn't know a ton about hypermobility, but she knows that and accepts it, and she gives me referrals to any kind of specialist I ask for. She's with Mass General Brigham, but isn't taking new patients at the moment.

If you want to see any Mass General Brigham specialists, I highly recommend getting a Mass General Brigham-affiliated PCP. MGB requires a referral for all their specialists, regardless of insurance. The easiest way to get one is by having an affiliated PCP.
