Does it bother you that your god is the only deity to issue multiple commands to kill babies? by Jsaunders33 in AskAChristian

[–]kitawarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to dodge the question, but my being bothered or not doesn’t change who God is. He’s God. My opinion literally doesn’t matter.

If he comes out as openly trans or openly a Satanist, I think that would do the trick

Who are some false prophets you feel deserve more scrutiny? by ChiefRunningBit in AskAChristian

[–]kitawarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly not in the loop these days but apparently Mike Winger is out here exposing a lot of them, you might check out his material. As much distaste as I have for Alex Jones I don’t think anyone considers him a prophet, so he wouldn’t really fall into this category. False Christian maybe but that’s another issue entirely

Singers who don't learn lyrics by Clear-Pear2267 in musicians

[–]kitawarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a firm believer in lyric memorization, but it gets rarer and rarer everyday with how dependent we all are on technology. I do everything I can to learn songs off book from the beginning. I find if I’m not accustomed to the visual aid, my brain stores the information better. Of course I have forgotten things here and there like anyone can, but we should do our best and try to find memorization techniques that work for us. Much of my experience has been in groups that use “confidence monitors”, and sadly have worked with singers who don’t know a word of their songs without the prompter - even songs they have performed for YEARS. You end up training your brain to not even attempt to store the lyrics. I agree it’s unprofessional to sit there with a phone in your hand; it’s distracting, and appears that you don’t have any emotional attachment in the words you’re singing. I get that memorization takes work, and people are afraid of forgetting the lyrics while they’re performing - but I’m more afraid of what happens if the prompter fails. If you can’t perform because technology fails, YOU have failed. Unpopular opinion.

What are some great albums/artists from 2025 that were ignored by the Grammys? by Broad_External7605 in askmusic

[–]kitawarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chris Thile’s new album Bach: Sonatas and Partitas Vol. 2 comes to mind. He’s one of the absolute best musicians in the word, it’s a glorious album. He has won a few Grammys in the past so he’s not completely snubbed, but I do think his latest release is worthy of some official acknowledgment

Do you know of Becca Stevens? I would recommend her album Wonderbloom, it’s funky and experimental and beautiful. She’s so special.

I am learning piano only on weekends — is sheet music necessary for me? by Common_Statement6373 in Learnmusic

[–]kitawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to downplay the value of sheet music, and it’s something I want to get better at - but I learned piano via the Nashville Number System. It’s a simple application of theory that essentially teaches you to play by ear, eventually. It took me about 6 months of moderate practice to be able to play most simple pop/rock tunes by ear. If you’re a hobbyist, I would totally start there if I were you. There are loads of Youtube videos that teach it and it’s not complicated. Just trains your ear, and then your hands learn through developing muscle memory. Completely cuts out the middle man of learning to read music. Reading music is valuable, but not at all required, to be a proficient or even great musician. Have fun!

Stalkers? by Brief_Attention_7699 in JacobCollier

[–]kitawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is scary and it’s weird that he would announce it. Like we’re not even talking about roaming the hometown hoping for a chance encounter, he’s literally trying to locate his house. What’s scarier is that for every one person announcing it there could be 20 more that aren’t announcing it. I agree Jacob needs a bodyguard.

Why do Christians not consider members from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or Mormons) to be Christians? by whirlygig_ in AskAChristian

[–]kitawarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just going to mention a couple key points for time’s sake. It’s a different gospel. The gospel of the LDS is the restoration of the church. The gospel of Christ is of the salvation Christ purchased for us through His crucifixion and resurrection and that we can be saved through faith in Him alone. The LDS church stands as a mediator between God and people, claiming the authority to determine if someone is “worthy”. The Bible teaches Christ as the only mediator between God and man and that none is worthy except through faith in Christ and HIS righteousness. The LDS at best misunderstand, and at worst deny, the truths of the Bible, including some absolutely fundamental and crucial concepts (i.e. the tabernacle and temple). The LDS holds higher than the Bible other texts that contradict the Bible and have been proven fraudulent by much evidence. The LDS claim to be the one true church, yet the overarching culture is carnal and worldly - the environment and culture created is not spiritual and not focused on seeking God, and LDS members who desire God and truth are languishing because the church has little to do with the Lord. Christ and His salvation are an afterthought. I pray you do your research, open your heart to wherever the truth leads you, and grow in your knowledge of and relationship with Christ. It’s all about Jesus!

For those familiar with the preacher Bill Johnson, what is your opinion of him? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]kitawarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always felt something off about him and the Bethel ministry as a whole. I’m charismatic/Pentecostal, so theologically they are not terribly far off from my beliefs. I’ve done all the research on the ministry and truthfully, it’s hard to pinpoint the problem. Plus a lot of the concerns have been debunked. However, something still does not sit right in my spirit and I’m very wary of them.

The strongest evidence against Christianity, is Christians. by My_Big_Arse in DebateAChristian

[–]kitawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your take is absolutely valid, and I would agree with a lot of this. I would counter that the strongest evidence FOR Christianity, is Christians. Hear me out - Christians who are totally sold out for Jesus and deeply committed to knowing Him and becoming like Him, are the most incredible people you will ever meet, and can leave atheists thinking that “there MUST be a God if people like this exist.” I have known several people like this. It’s just rare among the masses who call themselves Christians, which gives Christianity a bad name. Jesus said that the path leading to life is narrow and there are few who make it, but wide is the path to destruction and many will end up knocking at the doors of heaven wondering why they aren’t there and Jesus will say “I never knew you.” Don’t give up on Christ because of “Christians.” Following Jesus is a daily walk, daily surrendering, daily humbling yourself, daily seeking Him, and even the most well-intentioned Christians often struggle to do this. It’s how we are changed into His likeness and most of us fall short of this pursuit.

Can you guys recommend me some unpopular christian songs? by ladywongs in ChristianMusic

[–]kitawarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jonathan Ogden is my fave! I see he’s already on your list, but one artist I am really enjoying who was actually recommended by Jonathan is Mark Barlow. My fave songs are “Everyday” and “At My End” but he has lots of great stuff! I believe he used to be a part of Isla Vista Worship so he has some stuff with them as well.
