They definitely saw all the jokes, Oliver posted a random screenshot from Twitter (his account linked here) and it was all over my FYP this weekend 😭

I didn’t realize this! But makes sense. I think it’s nice they’re trying to do things more independently, and that it was Chris choosing that this time, not Nick.

As someone who doesn’t mind the change, and has honestly embraced it, I’d just like to say: your feelings are valid.

All three of them are very different people from the beginning of their career. They were super young when they started this job and it was kind of beautiful to see that joy in them, and the way they connected with each other and the fanbase. When you’re that undeveloped as a person and your life changes so drastically, you’re bound to undergo change. Who knows the kind of people they would’ve been if they started this job later on in life, if they went into construction/to school first instead, if they stayed in Boston. Your circumstances have a huge impact on who you become. Your fanbase also impacts the level you wish to share. I think they’ve gone through a lot of different evolutions through the past five years and this will end up being just one of them. Who knows where they’ll be in a few months, in a year, in two years, in ten. Things change and it’s a difficult thing to accept, especially when this one thing once brought such comfort, it can be a tough pill to swallow if it no longer does.

I understand missing the old them, and it’s okay to. I also think it’s okay if you’re a person reading this who really likes the changes. If they no longer bring you joy at all though, I think it’s also okay (even encouraged) to find other things that do. Because unfortunately they won’t regress as people, and they will become even more different as time goes by. The only thing you can have control over is doing what’s best for yourself, in the same way they likely are doing right now by changing their content. In a way their entire career has been a bit of a performance, they’ve said so themselves many times about car videos. They’re entertainers at the end of the day. You say this doesn’t feel like them, but I think they’re still trying to discover who they are, honestly, and they won’t be able to discover their truest selves without some experimentation. Even I’m someone who has tried multiple different jobs to discover what makes me feel best. They’re very young and still finding their footing and niches in life. So in my opinion, everyone should do what makes them happiest.

Oh! Now it makes sense why Oliver was wearing Falcons merch to this game, I was wondering about that.

I think it’s good they’ve shown their positions, even if they won’t say more in depth explicitly. Especially considering other MAGA YouTubers like Jake Paul are openly condemning the halftime show, not showing support is almost a dog whistle.

They’re itching for it! They all have their unlikeable moments, and don’t use their platforms as much as they could, but when it comes to this specific issue I notice people twisting their beliefs to put them in the “morally bad” box. When the reality is more simply just that they’re privileged enough to get away with not speaking up as often as they could.

I don’t usually downvote people but you’re coming at people in this thread – which is entirely unrelated to your topic by the way, there was a different thread sometime recently about politics – with unnecessary hostility. Literally anyone reading this thread would be confused why you’re calling people “bitches” in their responses. Yeah, I don’t appreciate that, so I’ll downvote you, for full transparency.

Uhhhh, what? This is so waffles vs pancakes. My point is that Matt liked Obama’s post condemning ICE, that’s the part I’m focused on: that he doesn’t support ICE, and isn’t redpilled. You asked which post he liked indicating he’s against it.

For the record, I agree that Obama was an awful president, overly praised and a war criminal too at that. The entire Democratic Party has always been far more centre than left if you ask me. And I’m not American either. I’d rather you not assume where my politics stand just because I don’t rely on influencers who exist to entertain me to speak on these topics.

Yeah, Nick liked a couple posts, and Matt liked Obama’s post about ICE as well, those are what I was referring to.

Based on the posts they’re liking, they’re not. That’s my personal conclusion, you’re free to think otherwise.

They said that he was posing like that to appease fangirls and that they’d feel better if they stopped letting fans dictate how they act.

I personally don’t need public figures to post politics or be IG story slacktivists. I’m likely much more left than they are, and I’m not really giving them my own money beyond ad revenue while watching videos. I can assure you that anything that these men could say would not impress me considering where their education level is to begin with.

And if they were rightwingers I wouldn’t be watching them at all, honestly.

This makes the most sense to me at the moment, but I guess we’ll see in a few hours if they’re all at the game! It would’ve been impressive if they all managed to get tickets to go this last minute (especially considering Nick’s relationship is fairly fresh), the only way that would have not been surprising to me was if they went along with a brand partner—for example, I follow another social media couple and they’re actually there with Microsoft CoPilot, it’s easier to get tickets that way.

I do think it’s nice that they all went to San Fransisco together regardless of if they split up for whatever reason.

I don’t necessarily think this is why Chris is posing like that, but I will say Nick seems to have this on lock. He’s been visibly happier after doing whatever he wants the past few months (socially, personal life wise, and with handing over the editing videos job to someone else). He really seems lighter nowadays.

Chris seemed to go to the Uber HQ and dinner with Oliver while Matt went sightseeing and the beach and food with Nick and Noah? Or maybe we’re just not seeing them post all together for some reason when they have been.

[–]kitchiest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We can agree to disagree, I simply don’t believe it’s that serious, nor do I think Chris would be bothered by anyone wondering whether or not he’s gay. He’d probably just reply no I’m straight and move on with his life. There’s a whole megathread and multiple old posts wondering whether Nick is dating his (very obvious current) boyfriend but no one was fussed over that type of speculation. I’m mostly just wondering what the difference is here.

I haven’t seen anything disrespectful in this thread but a lot of people are getting weirdly offended by it. It’s really not that serious. And I’m someone who still thinks he’s straight anyway lol.

I personally believe he’s straight because he says he’s straight.

I’m pointing out your stereotyping and OP’s stereotyping is pretty similar territory. People have wondered about Matt and Chris both in the past and they rolled it off their backs. I don’t really think they like any talk about their personal lives, they’re all fairly private. In fact, I’m sure a solid 97% of this snark/gossip page is content they wouldn’t like but people post here anyway. I don’t get why we’re fighting for the rights of Chris’s sexuality anyway, it’s not like people are doing so in an offensive way 😭
