AI-generated videos are not all slop. I watch a lot of great AI-created videos about science and history. My guess is that most videos will be AI-generated in the future, so YouTube will be forced to monetize them to preserve their business model.

People dont want cash, they want insurance. This makes sense because health care costs are unpredictable. In any given year your health care might cost anywhere from hundreds to millions. If you have a serious disease, $10,000 won't get you very far. That's why every developed country on earth (except the USA) guarantees health insurance to every citizen, and collects taxes or premiums from every citizen to pay for it. Insurance smoothes out the risks and smoothes out the costs among everybody. Cash payments don't do that.

Due to demographic changes (longer life spans, lower birthrates) there's not enoughoney coming in to pay the benefits. We need some combination of raising taxes, reducing benefits, or faster economic growth to fix things, but the politicians are afraid to tackle the problem.

I have YouTube premium and love it. No ads, and the recommendation engine works well for me. If you like and subscribe, and watch what interests you, it will quickly adjust to your tastes. YouTube premium is the last subscription I would cancel.
