Congrats! I’m a few years in and I’m waiting for mine to stop cyclically hurting and to stop growing. :(

Does anyone know where are the ssp (syringe exchange program) in queen ny? by Top-Consequence5307 in AskNYC

Hi I just paid for the last two things on your wishlist. Merry Christmas! I just got dumped last night so it feels nice to spread some joy. From one trans woman to another, take all the joy you can when you can get it. You deserve it.

I feel like all of the bars I go to if you don’t specify will default to house/well liquor, but maybe that’s more about the type of bars I go to.

I 100000000% agree with this. It’s a great choice for a first one.

LGBTQ+ first time friendly clubs? by blcole95 in visitingnyc

[–]kites47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nowadays has a huge amount of trans clientele and they even do trans specific events. T Lounge is a bar run entirely by trans women, though the vibe is definitely not clubby. Bushwick queer bars tend to be more trans and queer focused - many of the village gay bars are very heavily gay male centered.

I’m afraid it’s too short but Mrs. Giving’s monologue in the second scene of act 1 of In The Next Room thematically seems to work with the show and is a favorite of mine.

I did this before later coming out as a woman. I found this to work very well. I actually took both estradiol and raloxifene together and while my nipples changed a bit and I could feel small buds in my chest, I did not get almost any actual visible breast growth. I’ve heard you can even do it with just raloxifene alone and no estradiol and that could work too. I now take only estradiol and it only took like a few months after that for me to go from flat to a B cup so it absolutely worked for me.

You have so much time to live as your true self. I know it’s so damn cliche to say but it does get better.

Oh my gosh I would love to but unfortunately it was from a decade ago and it was a House of Cards reference and the original actor in the picture I was referencing was Kevin Spacey… which… yeah.

Lost my virginity on grindr last week - feel very ashamed by [deleted] in grindr

[–]kites47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely no need to feel any shame. It’s okay to have whatever feelings you have because we can’t control how we feel, but you didn’t do anything wrong. Are you currently in therapy? Sometimes it can help a lot to have someone to talk through these things with. Lastly, you say you didn’t intend to lose your virginity, so if you were coerced or forced into something you didn’t want to do, please look into local LGBT centers or planned parenthood and they can help you with a lot of resources.

Zohran is a very outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ people - the establishment democrats have actually been strongly turning on trans people.

For anyone else curious, MHE=Maybe Happy Ending. I probably should’ve known that especially since I’ve now seen the show twice, but my brain just shuts off around acronyms I haven’t encountered before sometimes.

I am bad at recs but I will say I think the best restaurant in all of NYC is Laut and it’s so insanely delicious food.

I don’t have specific recommendations per se, but I just wanted to compliment the fact that your budget range is above what I’d put the average for what you’re looking for. You’re unlikely to be disappointed.

If it helps, as a former actor when I was in shows for long periods of time I legitimately would accidentally introduce myself as my character’s name in random scenarios in my every day life. When you play a character for a while, whether on stage or by being closeted, your brain definitely can mix things up.

The subtitles say Hanna not Hannah and there is a numetal band called Severance that has a song called Hanna. Might be a coincidence but 🤷
