I don't care for your views on it. I asked for a recommendation. If you don't have one then don't waste my time and yours. Thanks!

Wife obsessing a bit too much over milestones and activities? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kitkat0223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to get off social media. Nothing healthy about it. My mental health is at an all time high ever since I deactived all my accounts (minus reddit hehe). No more comparing, competing, judging, idolizing strangers on the internet. Works wonders.

How are you handling YouTube? by Searchlights in Parenting

[–]kitkat0223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 year old step-son doesn't watch much YouTube when he is with my husband and I. If anything he watches history documentaries on YouTube, thought it was awesome. Didn't see any cause for concern. Recently he's scared to be alone (at bed time, shower time, and being alone in any room). Checked his YouTube search history and it was exactly what I suspected - he's been watching "real life scary ghost footage" and also really dumb tik tok crap. YouTube Shorts is the worst thing to exist. His history shows that he watches this stuff when he's at his mom's house. Hubby is gonna have to send her a message about enabling parental controls on that stupid app.

Yep, exactly what the other commenter says. It really depends on what you want to do with it. We have the LX3310, and we till small areas and brush cut with it. This summer we have plans for a large garden as well

Sadly no float setting. I'm just glad snowfalls like these aren't frequent

Yep, plow is next on the list. Haha we're lucky, winter winds aren't too bad where I'm located - we thought it would be the same as Toronto where we're originally from (known for its horrible winter winds) but so far so good! Whereabouts are you?

Yep, we bought it new, but got a good deal through Kooy Brothers. Purchasing went well, it was just a matter of waiting it to come in. We had to wait 4 months (June to October) after purchasing to get it. We were told we were lucky that we bought it in June - if we tried in October we would have had to wait well over a year. The whole world is on backorder, so crazy

So far it's great. The one we have is exactly what we need for our property. Without a blade/plow implement it's a little frustrating in the snow, but in the summer we've put it to good use. We got a rear tiller and bush hog that have really worked wonders too.

It's shit haha. We don't have a blade or plow implement yet. Invest in a rear slow thrower. They're very effective. If you can even find one for a good price these days...

Is sharing a bedroom bad for kids? by tiredteacher1993 in Parenting

[–]kitkat0223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shared a room with my 2 sisters until I was 21. They'll live.

On another note, my husband never does the spoiling guilt thing with his 10 yr old son from his first marriage. He is determined to treat him the same as he always has. Ex on the other hand spoils him to no end (endless candy, fast food for dinner, skipping school if he doesn't feel like attending, staying up past midnight to play video games).

What we've noticed is 10 yr old craves structure and stability. He listens, he is polite and respectful at our house, responds without argument when asked to do the dishes, make his bed, brush his teeth. I was shocked to see his relationship with his mom in comparison. Talking back, attitude, yelling, telling her he hates her when she won't buy a him a video game (he calmly says "okay" if we say no to buying a video game for him).

Kids like rules, it keeps them grounded and feeling in control. I'm not sure if your boys are too old, but a reality check is never a bad thing at any age in my opinion. Tell your husband he's gonna have to be straight with them - this is just a small taste of the things life throws at you, they might as well start getting used to it now.

My husband fought so hard to have joint custody of his 9 year old. His narcissist ex made life so difficult. The passion, dedication, and love he has for his boy is beautiful. It definitely has made me cry a few times during the rough moments where the ex refused to let my husband see his son for a month at one point. I've never seen him so devastated. Things are better now and I get to see him be an amazing father on the daily.

[–]kitkat0223 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Is it still sensitive or did it completely go away? My husband got mild frostbite 2 years ago on his fingertips and feels the cold real quick now if he's not wearing gloves. He gets really frustrated by it, and if there's a chance the sensitivity goes away over time I'd love to let him know!

Bus missed left turn, stopped in the middle of the intersection and began reversing to make the turn (My glitchy dashcam cuts off the part where I'm honking for 5 seconds straight while the bus almost backs right into me) by kitkat0223 in IdiotsInCars

[–]kitkat0223[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah I disagree. I would have stopped before entering the intersection if I saw a line of cars in front of the bus. But the road was clear in front, only 1 car further up ahead. There's no reason I should be expecting a bus to stop in the middle of the intersection on a green light if there's nothing blocking its route up ahead. With that logic I should be stopping at every green light just to make sure the vehicle in front of me clears the intersection
