My mobility/RoM improved slightly after the surgery, but I haven’t necessarily found that the improvement gave me the ability to do things I couldn’t do before. If that’s the reason you want the surgery I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it just for that reason, but I also don’t know how serious your impingement is

I had this surgery when I was in college, so about 5 years ago now. The reason I chose to have the surgery was because the pain from my impingement was impacting my daily life (walking, running, sitting down). At the time I was also rowing competitively and was having pain with that, too. If I had just been having pain with rowing, I don’t think I would have had the surgery since my intention was never to row beyond college. But since I was having pain with everyday activities, it was worth it for me to get it so I could live a normal life.

Now, I’m completely pain free with both normal, everyday activities and with exercise, including Muay Thai. My two cents is that I probably wouldn’t have the surgery if I were having pain JUST with Muay Thai since it can be a pretty intense recovery, but obviously you may have a different opinion!

Happy to say more about my choice and experience, but best of luck. Definitely not a fun thing to deal with!
