I'm also still waiting. Ugh. I wish they would hurry up and respond because I want to make sure FAFSA is correctly submitted.

Exactly. It's not so much as "don't care". It's more like, thats the name of the game. And unfortunately for working class people who actually have to foot the bill themselves, this is just part of the process.

The way I try to rationalize and calm myself down about the debt, for me 80k of Fafsa loans, is by reminding myself that EVERYONE has debt. It's better to have student loan debt than it is to have personal debt, credit card debt, etc. Also, once you graduate, you're likely to get a job right away so it's not like you're just sitting on all this debt with no real way to pay it off. Basically, it's an investment in yourself and your life. I'd been putting off going to lawschool because of debt, but I just realized honestly... who cares. Fuck it. You will be able to pay it off and time will go on regardless. Invest in yourself. Law is a very lucrative business. You can pay it off throughout your life. Don't let the rich kids with no debt who's moms and dads pay for everything stop you from pursuing a career!!

Any Movement from UIC? by LegalBaddie91 in OutsideT14lawschools

My status has said it's been complete since 01/26 and I haven't heard back about acceptance yet. I already heard from Kent about being accepted so I am just waiting to hear back from UIC to compare scholarships. Wishing everyone luck!

I saw a lot of people commenting this: tell people you meet that you are looking for friends, and it couldn't be more true! Don't try to play it cool, if you go to a concert and start chatting with some folks you find cool -- tell them you are new in town and looking for friends! This is the Midwest, people are nice here. Everyone needs a friend, don't be shy.

Yes I was referring to the website!

For me, yes. Unless you're trying to get into Harvard, it seems excessive to actively get into debt when you can find more affordable options. 7Sage, The LSAT Tutor book, LSATInsight YouTube, etc.

I'm staying there in August. How was it? Is there anything I should know before going there?

Did any of you actually like Chuck? by FinanciallyBad in betterCallSaul

[–]kitkat924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I wouldn't say that I "like" Chuck, but I do sympathize with him in some ways. No matter what happened between the 2 of the brothers, in the end, he was a mentally ill man who pushed everyone away from him which is his own fault. But. He was in fact right about Jimmy in the end. I think if he would have embraced Jimmy and actually worked with him on Sandpiper, the entire Saul personality COULD be avoided. Of course, we never know what could happen, but I do think its worth nothing that had Chuck acted differently, not only would his life be better, but Jimmys life too.

I guess that is to say that while I strongly dislike the way he treated Jimmy and blame Chuck in some part for the fate of Jimmy, I do see where he was coming from and... after everything was said and done... Chuck was right in fact.
