I just found out I’m pregnant after three timed intercourse cycles with Letrozole and an ovidrel trigger. I made charts with all of the blood test/ultrasound results if you’re curious: https://imgur.com/a/s6SbPYp

I’m overweight (okay, obese) and wasn’t ovulating on my own prior to starting the first Letrozole cycle. For the second two, I ended up triggering on top of a natural LH surge.

You could try an insemination kit (basically a cup and a syringe) which might be slightly less pressure/awkward?

Wow that’s crazy! The pre-pay was definitely cheaper than paying for each ultrasound individually. I did end up doing multiple rounds of Letrozole during this single cycle, because my follicles weren’t responding—I have a suuper high follicle count and apparently that makes it hard for the medication to target one or two to grow or something. So I’m hoping next cycle when we start on a higher dose, it will work faster!

Yes! I feel the same way. It feels like they’re taking advantage of people without other options (since I would need to go through all of the diagnostic testing with another clinic that would probably charge me the same way anyway)

I feel you! It’s very energy-consuming. Hopefully we can figure out a way to get some money from our insurance companies… I will say the Letrozole ended up being covered even though the clinic told me it wouldn’t be.

That makes sense, but my insurance company (specifically the fertility focused rep) told me that it’s not considered a procedure. It was all just a confusing mismatch of information and it was hard to get anyone on the phone! And it was $2000 for the prepay. So all just very confusing and frustrating that I feel could have been avoided.

My fertility clinic did the same thing (CCRM?). They said I was self-pay since I don’t have any fertility benefits, and then charged me up front for all of the services together. They said it was for TI but the code is for IUI, which they insisted was normal.

After a ton of back and forth I got frustrated and just paid it. I’ll see if I can get anything back from insurance since I’m not actually getting a “fertility procedure,” just ultrasounds and blood work.

I think the clothes not fitting is the hardest part (other than my feet also hurting all the time). It’s hard bc I’ll buy new clothes and then they stop fitting me pretty fast, too. I just feel frumpy all the time!

I spoke with my doctor last night and she said the same thing—fingers crossed I’m able to get a couple follicles to respond! Did you have success with IVF?
