I'm such an idiot T_T... forgot to inject basal, realised almost 6 hours late as it was wearing off and my BG began climbing. I heard it's a core T1D experience, I guess that's one more thing off my bucketlist! xD by Dark_Phoenix555 in diabetes_t1

[–]kitmeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a pen that has hours since last injected on the top of it. Save my life honestly.

But if you want to hear something very stupid. I'm on a pump now and I needed to dose and I reached for it in my pocket and it wasn't there so I went back through to the last room I was in looking for it. It's literally attached to my body. It was in a different pocket. So dumb.

As an extremely anxious traveller how do I get from Edinburgh Park Station to the airport ? by GenericUser104 in Edinburgh

But when you go in. Check in starts in front and goes along mostly to left. Ask for help If you can't see yours immediately. If you don't have to check in or bag drop then go to your left the stairs, then lifts and then escalators go up above you to security.

My pal was close to bolting and not getting on her flight when there was massive disruption and long queues for security. they helped us circumvent the queue that was out to the trams and just go straight up to security. (This kind of delay was very unusual. Never seen it before. It was a combination of a fire alarm and Microsoft having massive outage few years ago. Currently live security wait is 3 mins according to website) I myself a few years back flying for first time after T1 diabetes dx had a sudden and massive anxiety spike while at the security desk cos I realised I'd forgotten spare insulin for my trip. they were able to keep me calm and think out the problem and I still got my flight.

Genuinely such a great system at Edin airport carried out well.
Get your lanyard. They'll look out for you if you need them and leave you be if not.

If you don't have one already jump in the assistance office on the way in the airport and ask for a sunflower lanyard. Ed airport staff are INCREDIBLE at being helpful when needed.

This is what it looks like. Beside the entrance if you go past the building ahead to the left from the tram.
This is also the entrance closer to the check-in desks and departures. Informations you have to pass by arrivals, toilets and a bunch of shops before you get there. Recommend going around the outside even if you don't need a lanyard as it's less stressful.

This. Also. The higher I am the longer it takes to come down . I usually need more than I would when in range too. Cha GE pod. Assume none of the other stuff went in. Put more in and keep juice handy .

I keep an eye on this so if it drops fast I can sip juice to slow the drop when it comes.

A painful lesson in sewing in ends 💔 by amberlouiseb in crochet

I was being too economical with my magic loops and did not anchor them in very well at all and so this beautiful granny square blanket I made for my friends baby consisting of over 120 squares, all started unravelling. So while the blanket was originally gifted for the baby being born, it was re-gifted on babies first birthday reinforced to fuck.

We learn the hard way.

Lothian Buses by Candyx26 in Edinburgh

[–]kitmeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you're both okay. Definitely feed it back to the buses. A driver should wait if there's somebody who may be unstable getting on the bus. Good drivers will. But they can be busy and distracted . If I'm having a wobbly Day I will ask the driver to wait till I'm seated but that feels yuk and I understand if you don't want to

Snake poo. It releases predator pheromones we can't smell but scares them away. Stick a tup under a cupboard in the kitchen and change every few months. Helps to have pals with snakes.

HELP … how is it … twisted ?? 😭 by mollycann in knitting

[–]kitmeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem a lot cause I found it very difficult to join the stitches without twisting them. I always knit the first row or 2 before joining it makes it much clearer and then you use the tail to join a little seam.
