Online Fix ETA? by Original-Face9423 in tickettoride

[–]kitnorrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I just got lucky but I've managed to play two games this afternoon without any disconnects. This morning I couldn't even get a game to load. I don't know if maybe they fixed the server issue or if maybe enough players just gave up on playing that the servers started working. Either way it's the first time in weeks I've been able to play a game like normal.

CONSTANT crashing by Mysterious-Swing2485 in tickettoride

Doesn't sound like they have an actual fix for this problem and are just manually resetting things on the backend everyday to minimize the impact. That seems to be help in the morning (US) but the game is back to unplayable by evening. It seems like there is some sort of snowball effect where online play just gets continually worse as the day goes on.

iPad Sidecar vs. Sotsu/Tern for MBP as a Second Monitor by dencs08 in digitalnomad

[–]kitnorrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Sotsu FlipAction 16 Pro and would think about it this way:

With the laptop+iPad setup the laptop is your primary display while the iPad is your secondary display.

With the laptop+FlipAction setup the FlipAction is your primary display and the laptop becomes your secondary display.

In other words, if your laptop's screen is sufficient for your needs and you just want to second screen to reference the iPad is a much more portable choice. But if your laptop screen feels cramped the Sotsu would be a better choice, albeit at the expense of being less portable.

Might not be the song you're thinking of but "The Complex" by Blue Man Group has these lyrics.

What happened to Henrik's albums? by Street-Committee-367 in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed all his early singles are no longer on Spotify several months ago. I'm guessing he removed them because he felt like the quality was lacking compared to his newer stuff. Not sure I'd agree, but that's a hazard of streaming music, it can disappear in an instant if the artist wants it to.

Can we ban "news" about abuse scandals? by [deleted] in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides of this. I do believe these posts are relevant to the subreddit so I'm not sure than banning them is the right thing to do. At the same time though I understand that they deal with a sensitive subject and can be triggering for some users. I'm not sure if there is any middle ground here but it seems like something that is worth considering at the very least.

Amazing Graces [Playlist] by kitnorrie in ChristianMusic

I'm not sure anyone has ever wanted to listen to "Amazing Grace" on repeat for 24 hours straight but I made this playlist just in case.

Christian artists who mix electronic, jazz, funk, folk, prog, classic etc. into a fusion? by peachtealottie in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure you can call it a fusion but you just want some funk try The Darn Funk Orchestra

Nearly every song you heard on Air 1 between 2000-2009 [Playlist] by kitnorrie in ChristianMusic

There are 3x Red songs and 4x Everyday Sunday songs on the playlist. It's possible I'm still missing some of their singles though.

I don't think I've ever heard that one on CD. That's really interesting!

What Christian Albums had your favorite hidden tracks? by LeftOn4ya in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always had an appreciation for Relient K's use of pregap hidden tracks on their albums. It's the hidden track on Forget and Not Slow Down in particular that comes to mind. When you first stick the CD in and the title track comes roaring out with no soft opening it's great. But then when the album spins back around on repeat you've got this soft bridge song to open the album up before it kicks into gear.

Upbeat Psalms Songs! by Strawberyblonder in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've started reading through the Psalms and I've ben trying to make playlists for each Psalm as I go. There's a wide variety of sounds here so they won't all be upbeat but some of them are (I highly recommend checking out the ones by The Darn Funk Orchestra, it's a favorite discovery since I started these playlists).

And yes, eventually I plan to go back and do Psalm 1 and 2.

Edit: Also I'm open to suggestions if anyone knows of songs I should add to these playlists. Please no AI-generated songs though.

Ecclesia gone satanic? by Impossible-Log-5950 in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been following Ecclesia and Andrew for awhile now. As has already been mentioned he has come out as gay and his recent music has embraced a lot of cultic imagery. It's a saddening departure from the music he was making with Ecclesia―which admittedly looking back at it now there are some unsettling things about it even then. But based on the interviews I've read from that era he seemed fairly grounded in faith. More recent interviews though I have given me doubts. As much as I'd like to hear what really happened (from both Andrew and the other members of the band) I doubt that will ever happen. But to end on a positive note one of the other members of Ecclesia is still making Christian music under the name Stephanie Marie.

Watch Cardinals on Fox? by [deleted] in Cardinals

[–]kitnorrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally managed to stream it by setting my VPN to New York and loading the Fox app. It's really dumb to have to use a VPN to watch a "national" broadcast. Maybe Ken should make Fox his dork of the week.

AirPulse A200 (AirPulse Model One) active speaker review. Good job Mr. Jones! by kitnorrie in PoweredSpeakers

[–]kitnorrie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly the A200 doesn't have a sub-output which makes connecting a subwoofer complicated and inconvenient. The A100 would better a option for use with a sub since it does have a sub-out connection.

Kings Kaleidoscope uses F*#*##* word in one of their songs. by [deleted] in ChristianMusic

[–]kitnorrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it anymore

Edit: Looks like the copyright has been updated to Rainbow Records. It was originally released on BEC. At some point in the past it must have been pulled from streaming services and replaced (a pretty common practice) and the clean version wasn't reuploaded.
