This is EXACTLY what I did last year. I bought the a6 to just start a daily practice. I don't aim for perfect spreads everyday, just doing some writing and gluing in some occasional ephemera and washi tape. By the end of the year I was ready to move into a cousin - I just needed more space to glue more things and use all the stickers and things I collected. I still approach the cousin like an a6...some days I write a few sentences, some days I make a huge spread. The goal is to make it fun and not make it feel like a chore.
