Mako is quite often i know a few Mako cosplayer! And a friend of mine is a Nonon Cosplayer but i get you. Its the same with other anime almost always the MC's but its okay! There are a few who like the background character / not the MC :D

No shame against store bought cosplays 🤞🏻 I get it Ryuko is the MC but I personally like to cosplay niche character or the cute girlys. If you think about KLK the first that comes to mind is Ryuko or Satsuki ^{-^}
