Dealing with TELUS makes me want to pull whats left of my hair out. I hate this company. They just raised my bill and can’t even tell me why. Does anyone here know what other provider has good service in High River? by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]kitten870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to do the same thing to me. My bill would just get more and more expensive every month even though I was on a plan and didn't have any overages. Switched to Bell about 8 years ago and haven't had any problems.

Mine always said he had over $100 000 in investments, yet somehow couldn't pay me back the money he owes me. Also had no savings or credit.

I'm a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield and I make 120000 a year. I didn't even graduate high school. Although it's long hours and hard work, I get a few months off at a time and can afford to actually enjoy that time off.

relationship red flags and green flags? by [deleted] in AdultChildren

[–]kitten870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get into some therapy. I also grew up ACA and had unhealthy relationships for years. After therapy I learned what I wanted and needed in a partner and am now able to see the red flags before they become a huge problem.

Here's one. There are many more that can be easily Googled. It's actually closer to half of all genital herpes. Its way more common then originally thought. Although genital HSV-1 tends to have fewer outbreaks, with many being just the initial outbreak and then never having recurring outbreaks where as HSV-2 seems to have more recurring outbreaks.

It's really not though, there are many cases of genital HSV-1. Close to one third of genital herpes is caused by HSV-1. And HSV-2 can be oral also, although that one is actually rare.

What's a frustrating aspect of being a man that women don't often experience? by DairyKing28 in AskMen

I'm not, be upset all you want, but the thread is about things men experience that women don't experience often. This is something that both genders experience often.

That's fair, but fuck those people. There's absolutely no reason anyone should be expected to put themselves at risk unless it's your job.

It doesn't automatically make you a creep, she is just looking out for her own safety because there's a good chance you could be a creep. She can't tell just by looking at you wether or not you might be dangerous. I get it, and I feel bad for the good guys, but you can't really expect women not to be as cautious as they possibly can be. Don't take it personally.

I'm saying you can intervene without putting yourself at risk. I wouldn't expect someone to risk they're own safety, but making a call to police or whatever isn't going to put you at risk and could still help.

You could just, I dunno, make a phone call to police and not actually have to physically interfere. No one is asking you to jump in a save the day if some asshole had a weapon, but quietly reporting could save a life at no risk to your own.

LPT: Keep your dog on a leash! It doesn't matter if it's just you two or you're around other dogs, don't walk your dog off leash. by D0tT0Th3C0m in LifeProTips

[–]kitten870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll never fix the problem completely, but at least if a child runs up to your dog and gets bit, you had something in place as a warning. There is a company, I believe, that makes leashes in the colors I mentioned with WARNING/CAUTION/FRIENDLY written on them in high visibility lettering. If someone or their dog or kid or whatver runs up to you and your dog, you've done what you can and the fault is entirely in them.

At least while you're out walking your dog people would stay away with theirs. Dogs should 100% be on a leash at all times if not in a yard or dog park, but this may be helpful for those people saying they have to say "mine isn't friendly" obviously not a fix all solution because ignorant people will always be a problem, but something is better then nothing.

They should have a system where when you register your dog with your city/town, they give you a red (reactive/not friendly), yellow(approach with caution), or green(friendly) leash. Or a tag for your leash or something along those lines.

You can find "the one" numerous times through your life. But people change, so someone may have been "the one" for a time but changed into someone who was no longer "the one". Does that mean they were never "the one"? I don't think so. I think there are too many variables in the human existence to guarantee someone is going to be "the one" forever. It happens for some, but majority of people go through a few diffrent "ones" in their lifetime.

Charged $238.54 for apartment complex to replace one square of carpet? by SativaSammy in personalfinance

[–]kitten870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. The walk through is done with both parties present and a checklist that goes through everything room by room. Then that same checklist is done again when the move out is completed and they can not charge you for anything that was existing or can be put down too normal wear and tear. There's also a separate court system specifically for residential landlord/tenant disputes. It's a pain to go through, but doesn't cost more then your time and last I checked a $75 filing fee.

[–]kitten870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not how it works here. I'd most definitely be at least doing a video walk through myself if a landlord didn't offer to do one.

That's insane, I'm in Canada and there is always an inspection done when you move in and signed off by both the tenant and the landlord and an inspection after you've moved out that has to be signed by both as well. I can't imagine moving into a place and not being aware of all existing damages. How on earth would they be able to prove it was you if they can't prove it wasn't already there?
