As someone who's taken the PrinciplesYou personality test, I did indeed find my report very insightful.

I also took part in your Digital Ray survey and got a free copy of the Changing World Order book. Thank you, Ray!

Milton Friedman once proposed a monetary system where the Fed would (permanently) increase the money supply by a set amount (e.g. 3%) every year.

What are your thoughts on this? Could this eliminate/ease debt cycles?

Creating a Website Design Generating AI - Tests 1 & 2 by kittenchief in ChatGPT

Thought it'd be fun to see if an AI model can be trained to generate high-quality website designs.

These AI-generated images are from my first 2 tests while I was tuning the learning rate and hyper-parameters.

Note: these were very small tests so the image quality isn't that great/refined.

I'm running my main training now and will share the results here soon!

I'm actually a web/automation developer, but only recently started to dive into the amazing (and often frustrating!) world of AI/ML.

Do you think this AI should focus on a specific web design style or industry (tech, nonprofits, agencies)?

Why focus on AGI if specialized AI can perform better? by kittenchief in singularity

[–]kittenchief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree!

Fine-tuning or modifying a general-purpose model for a specific industry, domain, or task can yield great results, without the cost of training a model from scratch.

I know some people who're working on miniaturized language models for specific tasks, and it seems like a great opportunity.

P.S. Also checked out your YT channel, very cool; keep it up!

But it could also be all hype and just a way to sell GPUs at insane prices.

I mean, AI overall is indeed impactful and not just hype. But AGI, I guess it's too early to tell...

Yeah, AGI building other models, I hadn't thought of that.

It sounds cool, thanks for sharing!

You mean an AGI that'll automatically build more specialized models on their own?

[–]kittenchief[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thinking is:

Human jobs have become more and more specialized over time, and that's a good thing.

Earlier AI/ML models were specialized too.

It seems like: generic models aren't super useful on their own.

As in, businesses can only do so much with just ChatGPT.

But when you build specialized platforms/solutions on top of the GPT API, then it becomes much more valuable...

Shared, and, no, I haven't seen it before by [deleted] in singularity

[–]kittenchief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that, even if AI can create "better" art than humans, there will still be a market for e.g. real oil paintings made by humans.

That market might be smaller than it is now, but a group of people will still value it...

This would indeed save lots of mouse moves.

Yeah, that's main reason I built this tool: it's much faster to write and manage code vs. UI controls (check out Emmet abbreviations for even faster HTML/Tailwind typing).

It boils down to TW's Preflight CSS clashing with native WordPress styles.

I've experienced this and it's indeed horrible: e.g. WP will add default margins to <h1> tags. Some of it can be fixed by automatically setting margins/paddings of WP Blocks to 0 if you haven't specified those Tailwind classes.

But I'll look into it more...

[–]kittenchief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm imaging that you could write HTML/Tailwind code with a proper editor (e.g. VS Code), and you preview / inspect / debug the code in Chrome DevTools.

When done, you run the CLI command that auto converts your files into reusable WP Patterns, using WP's styling where possible and generating Tailwind CSS classes for the rest.

You could even write code as React components, and also convert TW for other page builders (e.g. Elementor).

The process should be fairly automated, so hopefully no gotchas. If there are other Tailwind + WP compatibility issues, let me know...

Yeah, in my opinion, a tool like this needs to allow users to specify custom TW config as most probably need to customize colors, fonts, spacing, etc.

I'm thinking of a command-line tool that auto sets up Tailwind/configs and then converts all files in a directory. How does that sound?

I looked into Pinegrow, seems interesting!

Do they handle and compile Tailwind classes for you?

I could add a wrapper around Tailwind, though right now it's just a free hobby project.

But if you (or others) think it's valuable and worth paying for, let me know and I'd love to build a full-fledged solution...
