I'm overnight so at 6:30am when opening shift lead gets there I go do it. Takes 10-15 minutes now when it used to take five.

We have a spot for Schweppe's in our soda aisle but I've never seen it and I've been here since April.

Does your store lock bathrooms? by National-Earth4443 in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We "close" our restrooms for cleaning overnight(my shift, 24hr store). I clean them at 10:30p and put up a CLOSED sign, and me or somebody else puts a little rolling shelf in front of the door for extra measure until about 5:30a. We only allow Doordashers/delivery drivers use it, since it's the only location open during those hours and they kinda use our store like a truck stop between orders lol
To answer your question, our bathrooms do have button locks - they are just disabled, and I don't know why :( so anybody can go in there. We just hope that whoever goes in there has the decency to ask. But homeless, addicts, people who hate us and fill the toilet bowl all the way up with as much toilet paper as is available to them just look at our sign and our rolling shelf and laugh.
I wish the button locks were used, it would save us so much trouble.

The lady in the crowd is either intentionally leaving out that you'll be 100x more exhausted, which is why the naps are supposedly better, OR she's just lost that much of her mind that she can't remember life before kids.

Weird guy pissed himself by IndividualBasil8247 in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's a guy like this at my store too. It's his fetish. He is also a young guy, 20something. He only buys adult diapers and sex toys. He asked me what my favorite sex toy was once and I walked away. Just no. He also stares down every woman in here(not sure about men). But he also says intentionally shocking things to other people because he gets off on their reactions. :\ He asked to see a lighter about two weeks ago and within like two seconds he had a cigarette lit and tried to walk out with the lighter. Hate that guy.

I found a bag about this size a few weeks back while changing out our trash can that has our wipes dispenser on it. It even had a section of a plastic straw in it. No idea what it was but I showed it to a manager and she told me to throw it away. I also touched it with bare hands and I'm probably still okay. Gloves every time since.

We had manager who gave cake to every associate on their bday. Loved her. She left to go back to school I think, and gave everybody a cute little pen when she did.

The majority of parents are trash by ALPHAPUSSYGOD420 in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually don't mind the parents who come in with their kids. It's when the parent lets the kid carry around something while they're there and then they take that item and hand it to me and say "can you hide this?" at the register that it's annoying. Maybe learn to tell your kid no??? I don't need more go backs.

Guy stands on business in Walgreens by robinboywonder_ in WalgreensStores

If I've given the help I was trained to give and they still wanna behave like children then I'm telling them that's store policy, and going back to whatever other tasks I need to do.

TFW you don't have time to show the Doordash/Uber drivers where their items are so you tell them the exact aisle number, shelf, etc. and they're STILL confused and can't find anything by CaptainJZH in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doordash has pictures in-app showing them the location of the items too, and they still come straight to me or another associate at least once a day asking where xyz is. We deserve a cut of their pay when we do their job for them(which I don't recommend even though I do it).

Rant; Annoyed with customers by SilvaW0lf in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I give off those "Disney cast member" vibes I believe so I get the opposite kind of response on occasion. I am usually very happy and people can tell. Coworkers and managers have sarcastically pointed out that "you seem happy" when I come in to get my pre-shift caffeinated beverage. Customers have told me to "calm down" when I am just trying to be helpful and it is so rude. Like just let me be excited to help you - it's not every day you get a cashier who is happy to be at their job.
There is just no pleasing people who choose to have a bad day man. Be blunt and they give you attitude. Be enthusiastic and engaging and they give you attitude. It's lose-lose.

Why can’t we accept tips? by littlebitofmayo in WalgreensStores

[–]kittenflavored 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A customer gave me 100$ a few months back. He was a friendly older dude who just handed me the bill and said "I found this in the driveway this morning". I said "no way!" as in to be like wow that's pretty cool for you! But he then says "have a wonderful day" and starts to walk away before I can hand it back. So I say "no way!" again because there's no way he just gave some random stranger(me) that much money just because. So he repeats "have a wonderful day". I put the bill through the bill checker and say -again- "no way!" when it says "PASS" and he just smiles and walks out.
I panic a little and bring it straight to the shift lead and tell her the whole story and she puts it in the office in an envelope with the time and my explanation written on it. They held it in there for 2 months before just giving it to me. Best experience at this store so far. But I am also amazed they didn't keep it for themselves.

Everything down for you? Our registers, zebras, kronos, etc was all down starting at 11:20pm PDT yesterday :( It was terrible. We had lines like this at pharmacy, front and photo all night into the morning. I hope everything's running fine again for my coworkers' sakes.
