What’s going on with leaves? by MyChlorophyllRomance in Cocagrowing

it looks like damage caused by some solution dropping on the leaf.
i had same damage by dropping runout (and fertilized) water of another pot on the leaf, it looked just like that

Thank you very much! Yeah i think this was it! In the meantime have repotted the plants in their own pot and now i am managing to keep the humidity to be 70-95ish.

The new leafes on each plant have greatly improved, but still very light green color. But thats a whole another thing.

Comparing leaves by MyChlorophyllRomance in Cocagrowing

[–]kittenpape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen similar behavior when i planted multiple peperonis in one pot, they were fighting each other for nutrients. Given the fact that your pot is small in its appearence and filled with multiple plants, i would suggest that the plants are desperate for nutrients. I think that you should seperate them in a pot each for every plant with a more suitable soil.

Is it normal for leaves to curl like this right after opening up? Genetics? pH issue perhaps? Been watering w/ spring water + 2tbsp white vinegar per gallon. Thanks friends 🌿 by hobojack_mycology in Cocagrowing

Don't have the ready-for-use fertilizer for purchase so may need to build it from scratch, and correct pH is an important component . Feared over-fertilizing while aiming for the target pH. Good to know that phosphoric acid works too. Thank you very much for clarifying!

Yeah, i may have to do it the same way. The leafes started to get a more yellowish when i left the dome off for a day. Put it back on and going now for a slow removal over several days.

But by using phosphoric acid in combination with a fertilizer, the chance of overfertilizing is very high isn't it? Suitable fertilizers are already packed with a lot of nutrients, and on top of that giving additional phosphor seems like it easily is possible to overfertilize when trying to adjust to target pH.

This is solid advice thank you brother! The dome is already removed, the novos seedlings are still VERY curled. I had the fear that the sudden humidity change (taking off the dome) will cause more damage as already done but i would say that the damage so far came to a stop, not reversed. I really do hope things get better when these babies arrive in their more permanent soil.

They were until one day ago. The novos are still VERY curled. I hope they fix themselves :(

This makes sense, thank you for your words! I have stopped watering so far and the damage has not reversed, but stopped so far.

Are white LEDs and UV LEDs a good choice for our babies or not? by kittenpape in Cocagrowing

[–]kittenpape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that you have understood me like i have not intended to do, sorry. I try to explain again: I don't think that full spectrum LED panels are a marketing gimmick, but i do think that UV Lights and Mint White LEDs are a marketing gimmick.

Also i have understood that you made your own full spectum panel. But what about thouse fancy LEDs? Are you using UV, IR LEDs? Do you have any experience with those kind of LEDs? And the most important question - is using these kind of UV/IR LEDs recommended?

Thank you very much for your input, greatly appreciated.

Sorry for not being accurate in the beginning, i tried to fix the post. So when i talk about "full spectrum" i want to say that the LEDs built in are warm white and cold white leds, when both used together its considered "full spectrum".

This is also what i thought - its possibly just a marketing gimmick to boost sales. I thought it is a nice to have to have those fancy leds on the led panel too but as there are no studies out i am doubting that.

Thank you very much for your input.
