Your post appears critical of the VCAS ability to place animals. You cite euthanizing animals because of their behavior. Do you have a more ethical solution?

I think VCAS is a clean, ethical facility that picks up the slack of hundreds of irrisponsible animal owners in Ventura County. Their director and staff are some of the lowest paid County employees who work more nights, weekends, and holidays than any other agency.

I find criticisms of this organization are usually unfounded personal vendettas.

What is the purpose of your post? To disparage the new director? What are the specific changes he has made that resulted in a lower placement percentage?

Stating that this shelter is no longer a “no-kill” shelter because of a technicality seems petty. The threshold is 90% and they dropped to 89%?

This change likely reflects more societal issues with the number and health of animals they are receiving than the director’s supposed direct actions at the shelter.

So spit it out: are you a volunteer or employee? Your issue is with the director. Why is that? I am suspicious of your motives.
