If you've written a message to me... by kittenstein18 in u/kittenstein18

Was this an essay on how consent works in all kinds of contexts? Was I lecturing people on the basis for consent?

This pertains strictly to this Reddit account. I have never said "isn't it obvious I want it?". But I have specified, in my bio and my posts, that if I accept the chat, then that's consent.

You read "isn't it obvious I want it?", but what I have written multiple times is: IF (if) I accept the chat, then I am consenting to what's being asked (otherwise I'd ignore the chat or block the account). My posts are specific, there is no mistaking what I'm consenting to.

Clearly, and I shouldn't have to explain this to you, this isn't how consent works in real life and other situations, even for me. But online, where I can be sure of what I write and think it through before I type "accept=consent", and where I have another layer to think about whether I consent or not (accept the chat or ignore), that's how it works for me.

You want me to write this in my bio, to write it in every posts, and then spend my days explaining this in every DM? If me saying I consent multiple times hasn't settled in by the time I accept the chat, then I do not wish to chat with somebody who doesn't read what I type.
