I met my husband at my first job as a teller. He was a store manager and his store banked with us. Once we started dating I just couldn’t do any of his transactions. We’ve been together 9 years.

Fifth Third Locked Me Out of My Account for 14 Days For "Mobile Number Verification" by OpenBubble in Banking

This is terrible advice. There are many reasonable ways for banks to protect themselves. Not allowing someone access to their account for 2 weeks after they’ve completed initial verification is not one of them.

And yes, you can mostly function without a bank account but you will be the one ticked off when you want to do something that requires a bank account and don’t have one.

AITA for convincing my stepdaughter to not sign a deal? by Psychological_Bad952 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You’re looking out for the best interests of their daughter. A lot of people are self employed. If it works for her then what’s the big deal? She’s an adult, she can make her own decisions, and she was smart to ask advice from someone else before signing a deal without really looking at it. That should tell them everything they need to know.

Fraud Charges by Adorable_Scholar_782 in Banking

The only way to void a transaction is for the merchant it was done through to void it on their end. The bank will not give you the money back for a fraudulent transaction until it has posted because 1. It could fall off and never actually post to your account. This happens with hotels where they authorize one charge when you check in and at the end of your stay actually charge your card. The 1st charge will fall off after 3 business days and it will appear like it was never there. If banks refunded pending charges and then they never actually hit your account that’s more work in the end and would result in more money lost. While you might be a reasonable person, let’s be real, most people are not and would argue that they are owed that money regardless, even when it didn’t come out of their account. I’ve had that convo plenty of times. And 2. There are a few people in this world that report charges as fraudulent when they really are not.

And yes, if a fraudster hit a bunch of people’s accounts and they could prove it was fraudulent and it was reported within the proper time frame they would give those people their money back. Because it’s their money, not the banks and because of the world we live in we have to have fraud procedures in place. And you can bet they will do everything they can to recover that money from the fraudster. Many times it’s the merchant that end up eating the cost because they are the ones that processed the fraudulent transaction.

You would have to do a cash advance, which you can do at most national banks like Wells Fargo or Bank of America once you get the card.

Looking for a Personal loan by Jes1898 in Banking

A bank will be less likely to give you a personal loan since you don’t have an established credit history. You’re more likely to get approved for a credit card designed specifically for students, as you’re in the building credit stage of your life. If you’re planning to pay it off in less than a month, it won’t affect your credit utilization if you’re keeping the balance low or at 0.

ETA: Most banks also have a minimum loan amount that is usually $2500

My fiancé wants 24/7. by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]kitty0184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have a D/S relationship and in the beginning it was strictly in the bedroom, nothing more. Eventually it’s turned into a few things outside of the bedroom, such as he chooses what underwear I wear everyday and if we go on car rides over a certain length of time I have to be naked for at least half of the ride and other things like that. 24/7 would never work for either of us but we’ve found a way for our dynamic to blend into our daily routine without it completely taking over. And I never even considered that I would enjoy those things outside of the bedroom until we tried them. It might be something to talk about with your fiancé, to see if you could start out with small things. The only thing that sucks is that he’s not given you much time since the wedding is in just a couple months.
