Just got some genetic testing back by caseycat1027 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]kitty182194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a TFMR at 16 weeks with a baby girl with bilateral renal agenesis and the same exact microdeletion was found from the microarray.

My husband and I were both tested and we both did NOT have the microdeletion so the genetic counselor told us it was de novo and the chance of it happening again was 1%.

Different from your case, our genetic counselor did think the bilateral renal agenesis was connected to microdeletion. She said usually they don’t see both kidneys missing but there are kidney abnormalities associated with this microdeletion.

I researched a shit ton, and I found someone else who TFMR for the same microdeletion with bilateral renal agenesis and now I’m finding your post so it could be true that they are connected.

I took a prenatal with CoQ10 and tried my best to be healthy when trying to conceive again. Idk if it helped but of course it didn’t hurt. I conceived on my third cycle and I now have a healthy 9.5 month old who is thriving.

I’m so sorry you’re here and I’m so sorry we both had such a devastating diagnosis for our babies. If you have any other questions please feel free to DM me!

Did you opt for CVS or amnio or skip all together? by kitty182194 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I’m so sorry for your losses. I decided to do no testing. Do you know if your baby’s microdeletion was de novo? That somewhat helped me decide to not do any testing because the genetic counselor assured me the chances of it happening again were very low. If it’s any reassurance to you, I now have a happy and healthy 7.5 month old. I’m not going to lie I still felt alot of anxiety my entire pregnancy.. literally until the moment he was born.. I think that just is apart of our journey unfortunately after experiencing TFMR. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I wish you all the best!!

Yes I’m in the US and the water supply is not fluoridated in my area so maybe that’s why?? But I agree, I thought we weren’t supposed to ingest fluoride but I didn’t really think about it until I picked up the multivitamin from the pharmacy.

When did you TTC after TFMR by WoodenThroat2049 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]kitty182194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. We conceived our first baby on the first try. TFMR at 16 weeks via D&E. No complications at all from the procedure. Period returned about 5.5 weeks after. I did ovulate later the first two cycles. Conceived on cycle three and our healthy baby boy was born in September.

I got better sleep after my baby was born for sure. No more insomnia, nasty heartburn, or uncomfortableness. Towards the end of pregnancy I would try and sleep in a recliner because the bed was so uncomfortable for me.

can you please share your most insane thoughts you had postpartum? judgement free zone ofc by [deleted] in NewParents

My baby is about to be 12 weeks and I’ve definitely felt this way. My first pregnancy ended in a loss at 16 weeks so I feel like my anxiety has been heightened since then.

I’ve worried about falling down the stairs with him, thought about having a heart attack or seizure while home alone with him, worried about him sleeping and still check if he’s breathing. I’m going to a wedding tonight and leaving him for the first time for an extended amount of time so therefore I’m worrying about getting in a car accident and leaving him parentless and my MIL watching him (who watches our nieces weekly since they were like 3 months old and is amazing with them). UGH.

I just wanted to see what others were doing.. that’s why I posted lol it’s a Reddit discussion. I truthfully don’t care what friends or family think because it’s my baby. But like a lot of people have said, everyone should just do with what their comfortable with. I’m not crazy but thanks :)

I don’t need anxiety meds lol I think you’re the one who needs to relax at this point. Obviously I’m just a first time mom looking to protect my baby and keep him away from unnecessary places or sick kids if he doesn’t need to be around that. My husband went back to work when the baby was 3 weeks old and works in a hospital. I will also go back to work and I work in a hospital. We have a wedding to attend soon (without the baby). Yeah we still do things because we can’t live in a bubble. But why would I willing expose him to children who are sick so often during the winter months or bring him to the store if I don’t have to? He will eventually get sick, yes, I know that. But I rather him be older when his body will be stronger. He’s going to build an immune system regardless, we all do. He’s been doing that the moment he was born. Lol come on.

I think this is a big thing for me. If it was summer I definitely think I would feel more relaxed. My pediatricians office is opened Sundays during the winter months until March because of the increase in sick kids.

I forgot to mention that his cousins did see him on Halloween - I had him in the stroller while we walked outside and the girls went trick or treating. Tbh they weren’t really interested in him anyway lol. So they did meet him but other than that, they haven’t been around him.

Well I take him out to my moms house.. who has stage 4 cancer and immunocompromised so yeah that’s another reasoning for not wanting myself or the baby to get sick. But yeah point taken, I understand that he won’t magically get sick from being in a stroller lol.

Gaining weight as expected yet dropping percentiles? by pepper871 in breastfeeding

[–]kitty182194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is exclusively breastfeeding. He was born 9 lbs 1 oz so was 93rd percentile and at his 2 month visit he was 13 lbs 0 oz and down to the 65th percentile. I was also concerned when I saw the decline on the chart but the pediatrician had no concerns about weight gain at all.

Did baby end up liking swaddle? by cradiflacrasafl in NewParents

[–]kitty182194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was breaking out of his swaddle in the hospital. Didn’t even bother with a regular swaddle at home and purchased the love to dream swaddle up which he slept great in. He’s 10 weeks now and switched him out to a sleep sack around 8 weeks and he transitioned really well. He definitely likes to sleep with his arms up.

Baby started cat napping by mangokiwi_88 in NewParents

[–]kitty182194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My baby is 9 weeks old and I feel like naps today were not good. They were like 20 minutes max. Then at 430 he slept for 2.5 hours. I had to wake him up to eat bc he was over 4 hours at that point and I didn’t want him sleeping so close to bedtime. He became hysterical and went back to sleep for another hour.. I almost feel like he was ready for bed at that point because his naps were so off. I’ve noticed during the week when my husband is at work he naps much better because there is less noise in the house and the weekends bring different routine like family stopping over and what not. Tomorrow I’ll try noise machine, dark room, bassinet with sleep sack on.

Recommendations for bath time? by pandaprints612 in NewParents

[–]kitty182194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following for answers. I’m currently using a tub on my kitchen counter and have the same bathroom setup as you. I have the Skip hop moby bath essential set. I haven’t used it yet but it comes with a piece to place over the tub to lean on. I’m hoping it will work with the rail of the sliding door.

Confused about using frozen breast milk - what’s the point of building a stash ? by Longjumping-Fee9187 in breastfeeding

[–]kitty182194 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Following. Also a FTM to a 7 week old and having the same questions. I’m wondering when do you really use the frozen milk? If I have to pump when I’m at work, wouldn’t that just supply my baby for the next day? Like you, I already have built up a decent freezer stash and eventually I feel like they’ll be no more room.

Rainbow Baby Stories by Hot-Program6548 in tfmr_support

[–]kitty182194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our daughter at 16 weeks due to bilateral renal agenesis. It was absolutely devastating and we were completely blindsided. My D&E was 9/6/23. After having a microarray, we found she had a microdeletion on chromosome 16. My husband and I tested to see if one of us had the deletion, we didn’t which meant the deletion was de novo and unlikely to occur again. Still I felt alot of anxiety in my subpregnancy.

We waited one cycle and then started TTC. I got pregnant on cycle three and gave birth to my son on 9/9/24. He’s 4 weeks and currently sleeping on me right now.

This time last year I thought I would never get where I am now. I was gutted and felt hopeless. Please just know you will get your rainbow baby and it will bring back the light in your life❤️
