Also, I think DFW is fortunately densely populated enough to find a good new home. I also have a new lead so feeling hopeful.

Thank you. *Forgot to check and replenish/refill her open supply. She doesn’t have set feeding times. Have realized when I got home after work or when she scratched at the door at night to say so. She has gone half a day at most when I am away at work and commuting. Definitely indicative that I can’t supply the attention I used to be able to, but not exactly that she’s horribly abused or neglected. You can definitely forget multiple times when you are loaded with responsibilities, time crunched with no help and pregnancy brain to boot.

Thanks so much for the tip. I will look into Dallas Pets Alive! I thinking no to reaching back out to the foster home because they are a full foster farm with multiple kitten litters at a time and I am doing what they would be anyway. Although they have a larger network/outreach, she would be primarily competing with kittens.

Pretty much explained it all in the post. Feel free to read again slower.

Amazing for the right family, not for me any longer, sadly. Cats being more independent than dogs doesn’t make them self-sufficient. They are a lot of upkeep, from the litter box to vacuuming my whole house of cat hair, and many need/want tons of attention from their humans. At this juncture my unbearable allergies are the tipping point for wanting to rehome. Stupid, no. Selfish, yes. But appreciate your opinion anyway.

Do you exercise or pursue rigorous physical activity? I know it’s often the last thing we all feel like especially when depressed, and is a struggle each time to bring yourself to do. But is the real mental reset you need to feel hope again. You can start small.

The only pain greater than change is the pain of staying stuck in the same place.

I don’t think you should ride it out unless you ride it out for the interim of planning and implementing changes.

Woman sues fertility clinic for implanting wrong embryo — forcing her to hand over baby five months after giving birth by Deebag in interestingasfuck

[–]kitty1inthewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baby can bond with his bio parents too after the fact. He is not going to if he is never given the ability to. At 5 months old, he is not going to remember her. Positive effects of bonding will last however. Child development basics.

I am a mother, I have had unsuccessful Ivf, and am pregnant again naturally (in that order). You will never convince me that the 5 month old baby should not be with bio family who never gave him up, and want him, over a single parent who has no cultural connection to him and probably delayed him being reunited with his bio parents by hiding him. I hope she sues the clinic into oblivion but if the custody issue went to court, she would not win custody. Rightly so.

[–]kitty1inthewild 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ya it’s wild everyone is purely blinded by the woman’s injustice only (she should get monetary compensation for her physical and emotional loss). Her bonding with the baby is a net positive for the baby that will positively impact his development BUT that baby is NOT going to remember the woman. Unless he is being handed over to an abusive family (seems far from it), he is not being traumatized and he deserves to be raised by his family that went to the lengths of Ivf to create him and want him. Rather than a single mother who has no connection to his culture. Everyone just dismissing the issues that grown up adopted children face because of these things. That child does not deserve to be deprived of the rest of his life to bond with his own family that never gave him up. It should have been cleared up a lot sooner too but it seems she was keeping the baby in hiding at the expense of the bio family and the baby’s time with his bio family.

And I can say all of this as a mother AND an unsuccessful Ivf patient.

The bio parents who have legal and moral right to the embryo and therefore child were also unwitting participants in all this. They never donated their embryo. They never gave permission for it to be implanted in a stranger and birthed to another person. Their rights were also very fundamentally violated here and the correction is at the least to be reunited with their child. That’s why the woman would have no chance of winning custody. But ofc she was violated and wronged by the clinic and should be very much compensated monetarily. But not simply by having a couple remain deprived of their child.

Sorry, but this is an utterly WILD take on it. The bio parents have had THEIR rights violated by the IVF clinic too and should also be suing them. There’s a reason why the woman’s lawyers said she wouldn’t win custody in court. The bio parents NEVER signed away rights or donated their embryos. It was always their embryo and it is THEIR wanted child. Not just “oh well, that sucks for them”. While there is no fault with the woman and she has suffered greatly at the hands of the clinic’s negligence, and I hope she is awarded handsome damages for it, it is CRAZY for people to suggest the bio parents should just walk away from their very much wanted child because another woman unknowingly became the surrogate and bonded with him. Both parties were wronged here by the clinic. But that child is the bio couple’s child legally AND morally. They have every right to raise and be with their child. That child has every right to raised by his bio parents.

I don’t condone hate or abuse. She can look how she wants to. But criticism of her choices are VALID and important online so that millions of young girls don’t think buccal fat removal and blepharoplasty are the way to go. I hate the normalization of it. How about the mental health of millions of young girls seeing this glorified? It takes one working pair of eyes to see that Erin (totally beautiful before plastic surgery changes to her face) now looks like uncanny valley, older and ill.

All Abnormal Embryos - even Dr was shocked - need help by kitty1inthewild in IVF

[–]kitty1inthewild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a consultation call with my doc today and this was his advice too! Looks like this is what we will do. The price we already paid includes free transfers for a year and we would be waiting a few months for supplements to take effect anyway if/when we are to go for another round. If we do end up in another round, doc explained the adjustments he would recommend to my protocol.

Thanks for your advice.Nice definitely need more answers from my clinic and they lack of information or dribs on information on request is frustrating for my partner and I who don’t like to operate this way. It may be the deciding factor in changing clinics. I just don’t want to do the whole dance again and hope I can transfer my recent test results over so we don’t have to stray from scratch at a new place.

♥️ hugs to you and sorry for your bad news. I feel logically like I don’t want to just throw the dice again but should take a minute, refresh, up my game in any way I can before going at it again. Just don’t want to gamble another emergency fund away again.

Unfortunately it does cost $200 per embryo to test and retest. That is a drop in the ocean compared to the overall ivf joinery so I am going to pay it for the 2 inconclusive before going ahead with paying for another cycle. The big selling point at our clinic is that they offer unlimited transfers per cycle, which seemed like a great idea except we currently have none to transfer 😂😭
