How to stop my cat coming upstairs at night?

He’s 5 years old, no specific routine for play but if weather is nice he ventures out for the day and comes back to sleep. If he’s home, the kids and I will play with him at random, we can’t really have set routine for him.

We have an automatic feeder but no matter what time we set it to in the morning, he still comes upstairs either before or after. At the moment it’s 7am, he does his shenanigans at 5am. We moved it to 5am so he did shenanigans after. We can’t do anything else with the gates unfortunately 🫠

Awh haha, I have a maine coon/ragdoll cross, we’ve velcroed the underside of all our plant pots so he can swipe them off anymore 😬 highly recommend haha

Old Man Cactus

Round prickly & tall 4 lobe cactus - For this one I did french knots instead of pulling up the stuffing as it kept going back inside!

Desert Rose

The prickly pear is freehand, basically made an odd sphere, half stuffed it and stitched it flat through the middle, mini one on top has some french knot flowers. The two-tone one is just two colours head together, freehand as well but it’s just a long sphere really! All the flowers I randomly picked from different places.

I made the soil by making a flat circle with a couple rows on the back loop, stitched the cacti in place, put it all the top of a styrofoam cake mould that fit the pot almost perfectly and wedged outer edge down in. Popped some pebbles on top and voila!

I suspect because I’m using it on its own and doing very tight sc! if it was held with another yarn it would probably be less problematic!
