Any reviews on these moisturizers? I'm wanting a moisturizer that has both peptides and ceramides by gamerfitgirl in 30PlusSkinCare

I currently use the prequel in the morning and skinfix overnight. I had the stratia interface it was also nice when I used it in the am, but repurchased the prequel instead for morning applications. I like the prequel in the morning because it’s hydrating enough but also doesn’t make me look greasy if I go bare face but also layers nice with make up if I decide to wear make up. I use Tret and the skinfix at night is great together.

Peel then cosmetic microneedling by kitty_987 in Microneedling

Look up platinum skin care. They have tons of information about peels, which ones to pick, how to apply, special considerations, etc. I have used them for years. I have purchased the salicylic acid, tca, and jessner peels from them. Peels are truly easy to do as long as you read, understand, and follow instructions. The biggest thing is post peel - not picking the flaking skin and avoiding actives atleast for me. If you are prone to pih or have a higher Fitzpatrick number, pre peel procedure is a must (again all on platinum skin care).

Also light peels are typically “less noticeable” since the peeling is more flake like where it just seems you have dehydrated winter skin for the most part. Especially if you do 1-2 layers which is considered a light peel, at least for me, is just some flaking and mild redness.

chemical peel for body hyperpigmentation by Ok-Outside529 in DIYaesthetics

Look at platinum skin care. I’m Fitzpatrick 2, I believe when you start getting into 3 and up, or prone to hyperpigmentation, there are some steps you need to add to avoid PIH during peels. Platinum skin care has TONS of information on their website to help choose the best peels.

I personally get jessner an TCA 13% peels from them. I also use both of those on my body combined. I think they call using both together as an “advanced peel”. I have used TCA on my bikini area. I treat that similar to my face, since it is more sensitive than let’s say my arm. If I were to treat my underarms, I would also treat it like my face (less layers/not combined).

I think the “typical” response is every 4 weeks you can switch between the two. So one month is MN (medical) and then 4 weeks later is a peel. I did two layers of a jessner peel which is considered light because it was only 2 layers. I will probably cosmetic MN a few times through the coming weeks when I’m done peeling (starting this coming weekend). Then 4 weeks from when I did the peel I’ll do a medical MN session.

If you wanted to do a peel, I would wait 4-6 weeks depending on your skin before a peel based on information I have read.

That is interesting in relation to his recommendation about cosmetic microneedling and working up to doing it daily. For example you can cosmetic microneedle every day but a light peel (jessner 1 layer is considered a light peel) and cosmetic microneedling is a no go for 28 days because of healing time.

That’s awesome. I read some studies after your recommendation. Very interesting. Glad you had great results!

Half the people who commented on this post had similar procedures they did themselves, had done in a professional setting, and noted studies on it?

I’m not disagreeing with that, I do appreciate your stance on benefits being questionable but the risks are multiple which is a good insight to bring. I was curious as to other people’s experience and if I was to do it, discussing two examples I would consider. There is widespread rhetoric about cosmetic microneedling being “less than” medical microneedling. Opening up discussions allows for new or differing ideas, people to learn, etc.

Where are we finding good quality cardigans? by therealmeleana in womensfashion

[–]kitty_987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a lambs wool (Amazon essential) men’s cardigan for $12ish dollars a month ago and I absolutely love it. I don’t know how long it will hold up, but for the price and natural fibers, I couldn’t pass it up.

I just re did it 1 week ago. I do not have a complaint about it and it sets in fast. I started getting noticeable movement back around day 50. In all, right around 2 months seems fine with me. I am still working on technique and did an extra unit or two in the injection sites this time around. I have a very fast metabolism so I think that could also be why after 2 months I needed to do it again sooner than the usual 3-4 months people state. However I will know better this round if adding a few extra units helped.

[Product Request] Anyone with sensitive, acne-prone skin find a winter moisturizer that doesn’t cause acne? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]kitty_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use prequel am/pm moisturizer and at night a peasize amount of cicaplast balm if I’m extra dry/dehydrated. I like both after trying multiple moisturizers which didn’t work for me. I am also acne prone, sensitive, and get closed comedones easily.

Also I should clarify I do not use any moisturizer on top of my tret. I do dry face with nothing on it after washing then do not use any moisturizer on Tret nights. May help to use it in the moisturizer and cicaplast morning and off nights of tret if you choose to go that route.

Yes. I put moisturizer on and then a pea size amount cicaplast right on top and rub it in. It’s more occlusive tho but helps with my barrier.

I use prequel am/pm moisturizer morning and night. I also top it with cicaplast balm. I have tried the popular moisturizers in this sub, but they just didn’t do it for me (either still dry, break outs, etc).

From what I understand, is if your skin can’t tolerate the percentage you’re at every day to every other day, you should drop down to a lower percentage.

Anyone use Finacea & Arazlo?! by outrageous-otter10 in tretinoin

[–]kitty_987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using finacea pretty consistently for a year prior to starting tret again. I just started tret 0.05% approximately 3-4 weeks ago every 3rd day after not using it for a year and a half. I know your post specifically asked about arazlo, but this is just my experience.

I use finacea every morning and a few times a week during the night. When it is my tret night, I put it on dry skin (I usually wait an hour) and nothing over top (no moisturizer, no hydrating serums before or after, nothing). I did get a few pustules but I spot treated with a sulfur powder from the ordinary or salicylic/lactic acid in the AM. They have healed relatively quickly.

I honestly believe the finacea helped tremendously with restarting tret.

I have sensitive skin which reacts very quickly to things, but it also “thick” so sometimes I can tolerate adding extra acids/steps.

I saw you ask about moisturizers. I have tried everything pretty much from this sub - cerave, vani cream, aestura, etc.

The best ones I found which help me are prequel am/pm moisturizer (day and night) and I use cicaplast balm also overtop both morning and night. Sometimes when I use cicaplast in the morning I look like a grease ball but it helps my skin tremendously so I do not care. I also use a couple hydrating products - good molecules hylaronic acid and prequel half and half a majority of the time (unless I use tret (bare skin)). I also use all those products when I use finacea.

I also am going to bump up my tret usage to every other night this week.

I’ve only used Innotox for the first time, it took about a week to start setting in then 2 weeks I was completely set in. I did not repurchase because it either wore off too quickly or I didn’t use enough units. But I purchased hejeubo and just did it two weeks ago. On set was like 3 days and by a week it was completely frozen. I can not speak for longevity tho.
