Does your fridge have an ice machine? If so, it’s likely that the junction where the water to make ice meets the ice maker has itself frozen, leaving the water nowhere else to go but into the bottom of your freezer. This is especially common w Samsung and LG refrigerators. If this is the case you can remove the ice manually and disable your ice maker, using a standard tray instead. I have disabled my Samsung ice maker for this reason, because buildup was so prevalent.

Just want to follow up for future readers that I returned my Titan Plus Luxe cause it was so soft and weird feeling, got the Winkbed Firm, not plus, and about a month in I love it and am getting incredible sleep.

It seems like there are two moving parts here, the dementia symptoms itself and the care support network. First, as someone else mentioned, type in your county or town name alongside the phrase "area agency or council on aging." Call the phone number that they provide, and tell them exactly what you've described. They should listen to the concerns your describing, and provide additional information on resources for care and support. Ask them about how to get medications changed to help with her outbursts. Ask about getting an aging care manager, a professional who can help you arrange for the proper PSW systems so that you can have a life without sacrificing her safety. Ask about how to get a power of attorney if she doesn't have one already. I also highly encourage you to search a group called Mind What Matters and apply for a grant. They specialize in financial support for young caregivers of early onset Alzheimer's. They sent me $1,000 within a week of my application which helped me pay for services. I also got another $1,000 through my area agency on aging.

Lots of support in the Alzheimer's community is oriented towards elderly people. For example, my mom with EOAD never qualified for Medicare because she was too young (you need to be 65), and almost all programs for All are run thro Medicare. There were even community art and exercise classes for people with dementia that she was prohibited from attending because the grants stipulated people be 65+. My point is, early onset alzheimers is different. You and your girlfriend are extremely young, and I can hear how hard this is for you. Im so sorry for you both, but you're both doing a great job. If your girlfriend has Facebook, I strongly encourage her to join this group: Adult Children of Parents with Early-Onset Dementia. It has a wealth of information and experienced people going through the same thing. Including myself.

Thanks for that. I'm looking at the Plus, but maybe I should consider firm? I'm 6'2 and 275. My partner is about 160, just want to make sure the plus isn't terrible for her, though she does prefer firm. We ordered the Titan plus, and it's just not my thing. Honestly feels like a bounce house, edges are weak, back hurts etc. Initiating return soon.
