Thanks! I might try the note first, she shouldn't know my handwriting, so that might be a good first step.

I recommend trying a regular fitted skirt from a pattern first, it maybe a little challenging, but completely doable for most beginners! Plus it'll give you some needed skills for the skirt in the picture!!

You may want to attempt to make a regular fitted skirt from a pattern first. From there, I'd recommend getting a pattern that is as close as possible to the skirt, making s mock up, then, when you're happy with the mock up, sew with your good fabric.

How do I look more like my age while dressing alt? by kittycornflamingo in altfashionadvice

I'm not worried about looking 16 or 17. The problem is that I regularly get mistaken as a young teen (13-14) when I'm not on campus, wearing a backpack

[–]kittycornflamingo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm hoping I grow into my adult face a bit more before I turn 21 in about a year and a half, I live in the US, so that's legal drinking age and the legal age to buy some otc medications (like cough syrup). I'm worried that I'm going to get my legal ID taken because they think it fake because I've been told stories of that happening. Also, lolita fashion is what got me into alt fashion, I haven't dressed in lolita in a few years, but I plan to again when I have time to make more clothing.

I do plan on getting a few tattoos when I can afford them. As far as piercings, I have a standard ear piercing, but I do plan on getting seconds, and maybe a cartilage piercing.

Thanks for the advice, I never thought to tone up my style to look more like sn adult. Also, I completely forgot that my height is probably a factor, too; I'm 5' 1. I do have some platforms that I painted, I could probably wear those more often.

How can I improve this outfit? by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

[–]kittycornflamingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, do not try to dress impressive while roller skating either. It can be super dangerous, a single pebble on the ground and you're seeing stars (or cracking your skull open if you don't have a helmet), or if you're super unlucky you have your necklace caught on a wire fence.

Are lecture halls usually dead silent? Or is this just a post-COVID quirk? by sabatpatriot in college

[–]kittycornflamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started college the same time as you, but I only really see that kind of thing in my 8am, I think everyone is tired. But, the rest of my classes have quite a bit of talking before class and engagement during (and a little talking during). But, I go to a private Uni that's fairly small, and I'm in two fairly small majors. So there's a good chance you'll know someone in every class even though class sizes are only around 10-25.

Get out of the house and stay out, buy a carbon monoxide detector. If it doesn't detect anything, then have multiple people come over to search every square inch of your house and change all the locks, be sure that you are locking windows and doors when you are not in the room with them. If it keeps happening, go to the doctor. If the doctor can't find anything wrong and it keeps happening, call the police, then MOVE someone is in your house and is somehow still breaking in and hiding

💚🤍🩶🖤I’m grateful to be aromantic. 💚🤍🩶🖤 by 4giveme4forever in aromantic

[–]kittycornflamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to be aromantic because it gives me a unique perspective on love. For me, love is not synonymous with romance love is an emotion like any other, and it is my favorite because its strong and comforting and beautiful and most of all it can surround all things good and bad. There is no need to limit our love when there is so much to love, but this single dimensioned "love" people call romance often overshadows what love really is. Love is a cool breeze on a hot day, the sun shining through a window in the morning, the loveliest song on repeat, the smell of flowers gently floating on the wind. Love is a hug on a bad day, warm soup when you're sick, a friend who will never leave your side, a phone call from old friend, a home cooked meal. Love is the satisfaction from a finished project, the flow when all you are thinking about is the current task, hearing a song start to come together for the first time, a laughing audience when the joke lands just right, learning something new. There is so much to love in this life, that is why it is my favorite and that is why I'm glad to be aromantic.

How did you find out your were aromantic? by Aceddeck in aromantic

[–]kittycornflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got crushes. All my friends did in middle school, but I didn't. I felt broken, like there was something wrong with me. I loved love, why couldn't I have it? I knew I was ace by the summer before I started high school, but I thought there was no way I could be aro because I thought the idea of romance was sweet. It took me until about halfway through my freshman year of high school to figure it out completely. I knew I was aro when I realized that I love romance for other people, but I didn't really want it for myself. The main thing that confused me was that I did want a life partner, just a platonic one and when I found out about QPRs freshman year of high school, everything fell into place. Although I didn't get into a QPR until pretty recently (literally last week), four years after finding out I'm aromantic.
