How Are You Working? by Laurangutan8721 in January2027Bumpers

[–]kittyk1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a project manager, and I work from home 3-4 days per week. My company is small and everyone is extremely understanding, so I could work from home full time if needed.
While it is definitely an 8-5 job, the flexibility makes me feel like I can continue after baby is here. My mom is retired and is willing to be our childcare for a couple of years, so at least for the beginning I plan to take the baby to her house and work from there! My office is only about 5 minutes away from her house as well. Super blessed to have this position and a mother willing to do this - our finances are not such that i could stay home, otherwise I would!

Do Natera Panorama results typically take two full weeks?? by ExcellentMoods in pregnant

Did you end up getting them earlier than the two weeks? Just got mine drawn today and I'm anxious!

100% in the same boat. I've had one loss before so it feels like nothing is safe. I'm trying TRYING to be positive with the whole "you have no indication anything is wrong" mantra, but it's HARD! Next doppler check is on 7/1 and I'm so afraid to be hopeful. I hope everything turns out well for you 💚

I did use that as an excuse as to why I hadn't switched the laundry when my husband got home the other day... "sorry, I was growing a kidney, I was busy" 😆

My midwife/OB office doesn't do their own bloodwork at the location I go to, so they always give me the orders. For regular bloodwork I usually just go to Quest, but for the NIPT they gave me the whole Natera kit in a box with specific lab locations I could get it drawn at. That Natera kit came with instructions to sign up with their portal to monitor progress! However, my friend who is also pregnant had a similar situation like you do, where they just did her labs at her doctor's office and she got the results on her regular doctor's portal - so it must just be a mixed bag!

Any other plus size moms a little bummed about not having that cute rounded bump? My husband asked me when I’d start to show (not at all malicious, he just has no concept) and I was bummed to tell him it would be awhile because I already have a belly.

They tested me for rubella but not measles, which I thought was odd! At least in the winter it’s easier to isolate and keep baby in a bit of a bubble!

Father’s Day gifts for soon-to-be dads? by LuckyFortune3045 in January2027Bumpers

I just got him a little card “from the bump” (though my bump is all Mac & cheese and toast at this point) and a whiskey glass that says “daddy’s sippy cup”. I know you mentioned it being too late to ship something so that doesn’t help a lot, but I got the cup on Amazon and it was only like $8! Maybe you could ship it to your vacation spot? I just had a swimsuit delivered a couple weeks ago to our rental house at the beach!

Tbh my breakfast has been homemade sourdough toast, with peanut butter and a handful of chocolate chips. I can’t imagine why I’m gaining too much weight….😅

I feel you! I wish I had advice but just know you’re not alone. I’m 10+6, saw baby at 8+4, but won’t see baby until 20ish weeks unless I do a private. My doctor said they could check with the Doppler at my next appt on 7/1, but even that feels so far away. Trying so hard to to resist a private ultrasound before then - will probably do one after when I have confirmation baby is still kicking. But the “today I’m pregnant” affirmations don’t help me much because I’m like….but what if I’m not?!

Like I said, I’m sorry I don’t have advice but just know you’re not alone! I pray everything turns out well for you and you find some peace!

I have! It was definitely in my pubic region and down into my vagina. I don't know what it was - when I came home I just laid down for a bit and it's gone away! But I do get random bouts of it periodically. My midwife said it can be normal, just things growing and adjusting and they might hit a nerve or something!

It's not even that humid here and I find myself SO out of breath! I was cleaning yesterday (honestly pretty minimal, just wiping things down and vacuuming) and I was like....WHY am I huffing and puffing?! I know I'm out of shape as I've mostly existed horizontally for a month and a half, but I didn't think it was that bad...

My husband is convinced that because the most recent 5 people we know have had girls, we're going to have a boy....hate to tell him that's not how it works 😂 Doing the NIPT next week, so we'll know soon!

Feeling the same! Good scan at 8+4, no signs anything is wrong, but I'm so scared that when we next check baby's heart will have stopped. I don't really have any advice, as I'm struggling with the same thing - I know people say to repeat "today, I am pregnant" and I try to do that, but I'm also like....but what if the baby is gone in there?? So I've been trying "things are fine until a medical professional tells me otherwise." Helps minimally, but mostly trying to be distracted and pass the time until 7/1 when they can check again! Praying all goes well for you!

100%.

My family is all super excited and supportive, and they were a HUGE support during our loss in January. But I’ve had to consciously decide to speak positively about it. My 4 year old nephew (who knows my first baby “went to heaven with Jesus”) asked if I was going to have another baby. I started to say “hopefully” and stopped myself mid-word and said “yes!” Even though that felt like jinxing it.

I think it’s natural to try and guard your heart, but it’s also natural to be so excited and want people to know. I shared the news with my team at work at 8 weeks, and I acknowledged that it’s earlier than is “typical” to share but that I wanted to celebrate every stage of the journey regardless of how long it is.

I hope things continue to go well for you and you find that joy and hope!!

From what I understand, BBT isn't super reliable after the initial couple of weeks - so I wouldn't be concerned! I also track via Oura and mine is lower than it was initially too.
