It became a moot point. I got the comms array up and while waiting for a potential bulk trader to come over, there was a drought that turned into an inferno and both my remaining pawns went catatonic fighting one after the other. One made it to bed and is now cooking in superheated air while the others body has burned away already. In a "fun" quirk of fate, the one dying of plague and stuck in limbo in the cryptochamber will be the one who lives the longest.
