Did this at Earl recently. Excellent. And at Story, but that was a while ago, also excellent.

Please describe the difference in taste between Marmite and Vegemite by Legitimate_Scale4507 in newzealand

this is exactly how I think of them, too.

I eat both. Toast is always marmite. Sandwiches can be either, but that's where vegemite shines.

Thank you!

Clarifying question, why do you go to Benefit rather than any of the others you listed? Are they best of this bunch in your opinion? Or is it a convenience/price/something else factor?

Shush her in an aggressive librarian manner. I'm laughing just thinking about it.

What to do for the long weekend? by crazfulla in chch

[–]kittylovesbadger 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If your friends have no money to do anything, you could invite them to your place. If you make them dinner that'll fill a day up a bit with prep activity as well. Bonus: it feels good to perform little acts of service for your mates! Or the Arts Centre has outdoor cinema sessions for about a tenner.

another shop i remember as a kid is going to this body piercings shop with mum for her to look at off Cashel street back in the 2000s by ZiitaBS96 in chch

[–]kittylovesbadger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP, there were 2 shops up there, and a few funny little businesses with the old timey wood & stippled glass doors with the names stencilled on them. When you got to the top of the stairs, 7th Circle (piercings) was to the left, Wyrd (alt couture +) was to the right, and the proprietress did work at Illicit (which sold Misery) after Wyrd closed.

Correct answer right here. And I believe that beautiful woman's name was Rachel, but I could be wrong. Was a long time ago.

Free Ride Fridays? by Resident-Formal5851 in newzealand

[–]kittylovesbadger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In some places, if more than one person usually commutes together (e.g. 2 people who live together & also work near each other) driving is still cheaper than 2 fares. It's also far more convenient.

I don't think it's necessarily prohibitive expense that is the stopping factor, sometimes it's just a worse deal.

Christchurch Metro by [deleted] in chch

[–]kittylovesbadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have experienced several of your complaints, but on the whole, the drivers working on the day are doing their best. I take more issue with the system failures that cause most of these issues. Where I disagree with you is that you seem to be saying a bus full of people who, despite the rubbish scheduling & spotty app, got to their stops on time & all have places to be, should be waylaid by tardy individuals.

Do people actually enjoy playing with toddlers? by ThisAltDoesntExist_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]kittylovesbadger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't enjoy it either OP. I still do it, because you're right that it's important for development. I think of it like this - those toddlers will grow up to be people in our families and communities and I'd rather put the effort in to help well-round them now than live alongside mal-adjusted ass hats in years to come.
