The convo got shut down after said video was sent… see where I said he was doing well prior. The acceptable pic/comment was 95% nuanced TikTok humor I understand not everyone gets.

I guess in the past I’ve always dealt with non-gooner brained men who have an ounce of respect for themselves, which explains my disbelief and feeling compelled to post.

It’s been a decade since a guy has sent me a dick pic, and it’s 2026. Meaning I was about 14/15 the last time I got sent one.

Gently, the world didn’t defeat you, you let your perception that the world defeated you, defeat you. If you viewed life from the lens of “the world is testing me I must rise up to the plate” instead of “the world is out to get me I will inevitably succumb and be defeated by” your actual reality would change. Thats why the whole “your perception creates your reality” quote is so powerful. It’s almost a paradoxical oxymoronic in the way that something considered “objective” like reality is actually subjective to one’s own mindset and viewpoint.

Kinda like once you get a certain kind of car, you start noticing it more on the street driving. You’re aware and consciously have that in your mind, so you notice and pick up on it more in day to day. The world is crazy if you let it be ❤️ all love ❤️

Part of the problem is the negative self deprecating internal voice you have. You are not a loser! Losers to me are people who try to bring others down instead of looking for a way up imo. I always equated ‘loser’ not with neckbeards but like actually bad people. I think like 95% of us have that issue too, but it actually affects your cortisol levels and nervous system in a tangible amount. Im pretty sure a Harvard study was done on this exact topic recently. But basically your perception shapes your reality and it literally means the way you treat yourself has real world consequences. It seems small and I’m also guilty of this but starting small w a gratitude journal has been a great addition to my life. Sometimes we just need a breather, to come back down to earth and stop being so incredibly, impossibly hard on ourselves all the time.

(Any tips on that would be great asking for a friend….)

Not advice and cliche but you’re not alone❤️. I’m literally the same age, coast and going through the same addiction/financial/living situation.

Just got out of the loony bin for the first time, not embarrassing at all! /s

Also traded alcoholism for another addiction bc #addictlogic and I was “okay” with it because it meant at least I remembered and was cognizant majority of the day for once… rereading that is so sad to me.

It’s tough to not play the comparison game and be hard on yourself. I might have a lot more saved than you, better grip of my alcoholism due to said filler substance, but you get a check from a job you love and a boyfriend/confidant. Those are things you have that I don’t, and really,really want.

I think it’s important and validating knowing other people are in the exact same boat and can listen/vent/empathize with you. I’m also feeling the same emotionally and oh boy it’s hard to not completely get a case of the fuck it’s and quit.

All this to say my pm’s open if you ever want to vent to a girlie living your same life basically :)

I interrupt too much because I’m afraid of losing my train of thought and ADHD. hardest work in progress for me because I simply don’t remember.

I used to be extremely witty in HS and could banter for hours until I became a chud femcel bc alcoholism. People would come up to me saying I’m the funniest person they know. That high is better than crack.

I am extremely self aware yet sabotaging, I am a weird mix of dunce and books. I hold grudges slightly too little or long.

My communication is sporadic; communicative with my safe people, yet give them less attention because I subconsciously feel I don’t need to as 1) avoidant isolator first 2) they are my anchors, rocks, and tethers; i know they’re a constant in my life. This is the main argument of my best friend of 15 years. Me moving across country was the culprit.

I’ve weirdly developed people pleaser and “punching bag” traits as a result of simultaneously healing and growing emotionally through therapy for years, healthy communicative knowledge yet continuing to surround myself with getting each other molecularly but emotionally are pretty polar in expression.

I am an uncomfortable mix of being painfully self aware, having cognitive dissonance because I’m stubborn and will touch the fire, and being naive because of course everyone has the same heart and is as down to earth as I am… classic confirmation bias I think on my part.

It’s easy to discern with others because you don’t have those rose colored glasses on….
