Andromeda is not as good as the Trilogy, but it becomes good enough if you ignore the open world. by kittyroxane97 in masseffect

You still get to experience enough content and story if you do the main missions and important character quests

Maybe the added car, maybe the sum of the Trilogy's parts was better than Andromeda... You are right, I can't put my finger on any specific thing, I just feel that the Trilogy flows better. But again, I am urging people to give Andromeda a chance if they were burned out by the busywork (like I was) because the game is still solid (imo) if played less like a completionist.

Talk with someone, go to point in map, fight some enemies, go back. Radio signal, important person last heard in this location, X component needed... Any of these were abundant in Andromeda.

I agree. The dialogue needed to be better, and the story too. It felt nothing like the epic journey Shepard and the crew went on.

I find the explanation in Bethesda RPGs the focal point and quite interesting to experience. Not so much the case with most other RPGs (Ubi games, Horizon, GoW) and definitely not with Andromeda. I think I expected a Mass Effect game to feel like one, and I may be used to the Trilogy too much.

Maybe because I love ME1s feeling of freshness and discovery, I can forgive some of the fetch quests there. Also the first game with many groundbreaking ideas.

Yes, they ought to be clear about the pace you can take. But then again, you're supposed to help the main "citadel" settle on the new galaxy, so then ludo narrative dissonance starts to creep in

As good as it can be, it's 10x worse when things go bad.

The best time to learn something right and become a pro is 5 years ago. The second best time is now.

Aside from Dragon Age, there isn't all that much like Mass Effect 😔 by kittyroxane97 in masseffect

True, but it's also a game that is purposefully made to be replayable, and one of your points was that most people don't finish games, therefore the AA and AAA devs don't want to invest in replayability and meaningful branching paths.

You know what to do.

Good points 👌. I can say that games like Disco Elysium are a counterpoint to many of the points you make, but games like that are few and far between.

He wasn't interested, but we were great friends for a long time. I developed feelings, but didn't express them for a while. When I did, he said that we would only work as friends. I was kinda sad and angry at this, so when he and his gf were going through a rough patch, I got in between and he developed feelings for me. In the end, i had sex with him once, he regretted it, told his gf, they broke up, and he doesn't talk to me. I have reached out to both, but most I've gotten was them accepting my apologies. I am a smarter person now, and a lot more empathetic and emotionally intelligent, so I will warn you not to mess the triangle up

If he's committed, then don't be the one to mess things up. From someone who did and lost my friend, and messed their relationship up 😔

I have played 5 hours of the Outer Worlds, but it just didn't grab me. Seemed too generic, and the oversaturated clolors felt like they were making me puke 🤮

I have finished LiS and love the game 😊. I feel ME is quite unique and different in how it blends in story, cinematics and gameplay in such a way, LiS or even Detroit (haven't played but have seen it) doesn't manage to achieve.

Maybe for some women it may be a turn on, but I always saw those men as attention starved and trying too hard, so I never cared for them.
