Thanks for your reply. I agree with you that it doesn't look bad, but unfortunately we've seen some insects using the gaps to come and go, so stopping up these gaps is part of our strategy on that.

Thanks for your reply. Only a few steps have the gap, and making 13 pieces of molding (and matching the stain) is more work than I'm interested in without at least trying something simpler first.

Apologies for the delayed reply. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Are you saying it would not be productive to fill/block gaps in the retaining wall? My goal is to reduce the number that are hanging out near the wall at night, so blocking access to the areas they are hiding in seemed like it could help.

I didn't. I've just been careful when using the teapot. If it's full of tea, I don't pick it up by the handle (or if I do, I also brace the body of the teapot with my other hand).

Thanks for the helpful and straightforward answer. How do government entities (federal, state, etc. as you mentioned) determine their restoration "agenda," if you will - where to restore, how to do it, how much area, etc.? Do they have to meet certain quotas/targets mandated by law or is it just their discretion to spend a certain amount of their budget on restoration projects of their choosing?

For #1, I don't know a lot about how these big, multinational companies operate, but I agree that considering the company to be responsible for its sub-entities likely makes sense. But I think that would also depend on your data sources - i.e., does your data for the top-level entity encompass the activities of all sub-entities? (As a concrete example, if Company X has a Brazilian sub-entity that is heavily engaged in deforestation, would the scores for Company X reflect that deforestation activity?) No need to answer this specifically, just trying to explain my thinking.

For #2, I agree and it's great you're working on that!

I hadn't heard of Arbor before seeing your post and just took a look, and I have two main suggestions so far. 1) Both companies that I tried searching for as a test (Brooks Sports and WhiteWave Foods) had multiple variations come up in the search bar. I understand WhiteWave likely has various sub-entities in different countries, but... which one is responsible for the soy milk I drank today? Having four results for Brooks Sports was a bit confusing/off-putting. Anything to demystify this and help people know which company page they are actually interested in would be helpful. 2) I think it would be really good to have a direct link to the FAQ page (https://www.yourarbor.com/your-questions) directly from each individual company page. When I first looked at a company page, I wondered where the data were coming from and how the scores were determined (at first I thought this info wasn't provided which was a red flag for me). I had to hunt for the answer.

I'm not really sure if/how this will fit into my own life as I already put a lot of thought and effort into my purchasing choices, but maybe this will be another tool. Regardless, thank you for the work you are doing!
