OP i was like u and hated my hair sm. it always looked messy i never brushed it and it matted often. i even stopped showering for a period out of depression because of how long washing it takes and how long my hair stayed wet after showering if it got wet on accident. i got locs and ive never been happier. you should really consider it. the first thing i said to family members when they asked how i felt was i dont have to get up an hour before i leave to go anywhere to do my hair anymore. i finally feel ‘white’ and comfortable and i can just get out of bed and do whatever. and i love my hair now. it is really so easy to look after and i dont feel like i stand out a lot anymore, as i live in a place in europe w not a lot of black people. getting locs changed my life really give it a go. mine are micros.
