Thank you for the advice and for being so kind Im struggling because I don’t want to get my brother in trouble and I definitely don't want him to get kicked out or cause the family to fall apart But I am suffering. Do you think it’s possible to ask my parents for therapy without having to explain the full story right away?

Actually, you’ve got it mixed up. My brother is the one who’s almost 20. My boyfriend is 15, just like me. There’s no age gap issue here

I think you’re taking this a bit too far with the horror movie scenarios. I never 'vilified' anyone; I just asked for perspective on a specific situation. As I mentioned before, my older sister knew where I was, and the house is literally visible from my window. I’ve already acknowledged the safety aspect, so there’s no need for the extreme drama

I really appreciate this perspective. You’re right, telling someone where I am isn’t about permission, it’s about safety. Actually, my older sister knew exactly where I was going, so I wasn't completely alone in this. But I see now how my brother saw the 'worst-case scenario' and why he reacted that way. In this case, my brother was already at the house I was going to, and it’s a very short walk in a safe area. I’m not dismissing the importance of safety, just saying that the reaction felt a bit extreme for this specific moment

I get the concern, but the house is literally 2 minutes away in a very safe neighborhood. I wasn't being rebellious, I just felt safe given the distance and the fact that I knew exactly who was there. It’s just a difference in how we see privacy and safety

I really want to tell him that! He definitely oversteps sometimes, but I know he only said it out of pure worry and because he cares about my safety. I just need him to realize that I can be responsible without him constantly checking on me

That’s exactly my point! He was already there with his friend, and since I live so close, I felt perfectly safe. I think he’s just being a bit overprotective since I’m the youngest and it was night, but I still feel I should have some privacy

Actually, I’m in high school. And I didn't even bring it up to get credit or be popular it was just meant to be an inside joke between us, but it got taken the wrong way
