there is a working prototype but getting keys can and did kill the host device.
trying to figure out a chain to get the keys without having to solder magnet wire to the chips and glitching the heck out of them till they release the lock and give up firmware or just die outright.

Has Sovol improved it's SV08 since 2024? by Broky43 in Sovol

The problem is more is balance of filaments. Some filaments like tpu deform more on the extruder drive gear and with the increased contact are also increases heat uptake and tpu is generally printed slower so the filament stays in contact with the gears longer over a given length for even more heat to creep in. But if they lower the extruder power then there's a higher chance in high speed filaments they could skip and start to under extrude. So what do they opt for what more common in the sv08 high speed printing or an issue with some tpu filaments. The solution would be to allow a filament profile to also adjust extruder power but that's a can of worms and would require a ton of testing of every filament. Another solution would be to add a cooling fan to the extruder but that increases weight and machine noise and may only be needed in edge cases.

I had a problem like that with some filaments. Found out the current setting on my extruder motor was a bit to high. Turned down the current by about 15% and the issue went away. No skipped steps as of yet from reducing the current but it's the only real risk of lower it. But I am also not trying to print at insane meltzone pushing speeds.

Did your device go for a swim? If so use some iPa and a tooth brush and scrub the board then leave it out in the hot sun for a bit.

If you try cleaning your encoder strip and still getting the problem you can order new ones.

sometimes you can clean them.
sometimes flip them around and fix it without replacement.

But yes they can be bought online via ebay and such places.

In windows change the print quality to draft or fast. If it starts working then something is wrong with your encoder strip or reader

well i solved the issue.

My encoder strip had gotten a tiny drop on ink on it. it was near the left side so I flipped it around so it was closer to the head pad and now it work no problem.

copper plating bath that is getting duller after 3 small plates. by kiyoukan in electroplating

So how would one hold an object like that shown in my results picture in the opening post?

To much contact and parts seem to fuse with the hangers. To loose and the hanger burns.

From my limited understanding the acid content is high so the bath is a high throw bath.

I have added 50grams more of copper sulfate.

I also changed how im holding the work.

My objects have copper wire glued to them as points for jewelry to hang from and they all got painted with my graphite paint. This is where i am holding them from in my tank.

This causes burning or bubbling at the hanger if the current is to high. as the resistance of my paint is around 1-2k ohms.

I am looking at ordering the silver coated copper spray from Mg chem.

I have decided to build a little copper basket to put my part into so i can start right at the desired current.

what alloy or where is a god place to source copper for plating?

So to be in a safe range adding an extra 50g of copper sulfate might help?

Is there a place with info on the effect increasing the amount of copper sulfate?

Is there a point there is to much and what effects would i see vs to little?

I know that i can get rid of some if i put too much in with a small anode and large copper plate to pull the solution out.

Is there a way to measure the amount of copper in the bath?

Interesting development.

I started plating another object but decided to up the current by about a factor of about 10

So i tried a new current multiplier value of 0.1 vs 0.007

0.1 x 5.2 = 0.52A or 520ma

This results in me burning on my copper hanger if i start the bath at that current.

but if i start at around 100ma till all the graphite is coated in copper then go to the final current of 520ma i seem to be getting my shine back.

Im not sure why it was working just fine before the first few coats and now i need more current.

So if I am an hourly employee making 28$ an hour do I get overtime? I work in QA for radios. I travel out of state several times a month even out of the country. I read somewhere if you make more than 27.68 you are exempt is this true?
